Summary: The On-Call Community Care Aide (CCA) is responsible for helping older adults (age 55+) with their activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, etc) at their place of residence. On-Call CCAs must be comfortable working independently and must be able to quickly respond to changing circumstances. This position requires you to be able to respond to calls and be available to cover care during the on-call timeframe for their designated areas. A reliable vehicle and valid PA driver's license are required. Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Required Experience: One or more years of verifiable experience working with the frail/elderly population is required. Experience as a personal care aide, CNA, home health aide or nursing assistant is desirable. Experience working in home care and demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with patients and caregivers in a healthcare or community setting. Required Skills : Discretion, tact, patience, and good judgment. Empathetic and compassionate attitude in caring for the elderly. Ability to understand and carry out non-technical verbal and written directions, record messages, and keep records. Ability to get along well with others and gain the cooperation of the participants. Physical and emotional ability to carry out assigned tasks. Routine work involving the personal care and program activities of participants.
