Learn about SKF at ************ Summary: This position may be responsible for one or all of the following: non-destructive testing, receiving and inspection, gage control, and floor inspection (including first piece inspection) of finished, semi-finished, and sub-assemblies components in compliance with engineering drawings, customer and company specifications, implementing and maintaining effective quality assurance programs ensuring all products meet or exceed company and customer requirements/standards. Key responsibilities: * Read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications; understand standard notes, symbols and instructions as related to work. * Perform inspection operations using automatic and manual gages, fixtures and equipment. * Perform gage inspection, calibration, and R&D on a variety of gages including but not limited to: Micrometers Dual indicators Go-No-Go Profilometer Air columns Contact gage Pin and indicators CMM Radius gage Vernier caliper Torque scale Hardness Tester * Assists in the training and development of new employees. * Collects and records a variety of data on variety of company supplier documents/forms (travelers, data sheets, set up sheets, etc) in support of proper record keeping requirements. * Reviews purchase orders ensuring that quality procurement clauses are well defined; cross referencing customer specifications to procurement clauses. * Creates and modifies quality control forms used in conjunction with final inspection drawings to record all dimensions and data pertinent to each part number in support of ISO 9001 requirements. * Verifies accuracy and completion of data packages, including non-destructive testing records and material certifications prior to completed assembly shipments. * Must meet quality and quantity requirements. * Accurately complete all associated documents and records required in the inspection and assembly procedures. * Maintain communication between supervisor and coworkers to pass on significant information to aid the production effort. * Employee shall achieve the above requirements with minimal supervision and instruction. * Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment including identification of unsafe conditions. * Steel toed/composite toed shoes and ANSI approved safety glasses with side shields must be worn at all times. * Performs other duties and assignments as scheduled and/or required. Requirements: * A high school diploma or GED required. * Two (2) year technical degree preferred or equivalent experience in a precision component manufacturing environment. * Must be competent in blueprint reading, shop math and understand gaging and gage reading. Responsibilities: * Responsible for developing and maintaining a Zero Accident culture through effective support of Safety and Environmental programs and processes. * Participation and/or responsible for various projects related to environmental, health and safety according to ISO 14001 and 45001 standards including supporting the maintenance of a Zero Accident culture through implementation and adherence of Safety and Environmental programs and processes, and policies. * Maintain compliance with SKF's Group Policy on Environment, Health, and Safety * Monitoring of the Energy Management System according to ISO 50001:2018 * Active participation in EHS and energy audits * Active participation in site's energy and decarbonization committee * Responsible for tracking energy usage and working with Plant Controller for critical KPIs * Product usage tracking, hazardous waste inspections, coordination of hazardous waste disposition and disposal * Responsible for environmental reporting and regulatory permits for wastewater, air permits, etc. * Maintain appropriate and accurate environmental and other records; complete monthly reporting in SKF systems * Contribution to continuous improvement of the management system, focusing on energy reduction and decarbonization. * Schedule and maintain regulatory inspections i.e. emergency riser, fire extinguishers, etc. * Drive continuous improvement efforts in all areas of EH&S and document those actions. * Support the achievement and maintenance of the required EH&S certifications including ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, 50001(energy). * Assists with conducting audits/inspections of EH&S programs to ensure they are functioning. * Identify unsafe conditions/actions within the plant and recommend corrective measures. * Works with team to complete effective incident and accident investigations and ensure that all documentation is maintained in SKF systems. * Helps to define and deliver all required safety training, (i.e. fork truck, lockout tagout, hoist/cranes etc.) for both new hires and existing workforce. * Assist inspection personnel from outside insurance carriers (Willis Watson & Towers) and regulatory agencies (EPA, OSHA, D.E.E.P, Labor Dept. etc) * Assist with managing the contractor/visitor safety program and ensure compliance. * Provide input and help facilitate EH&S related capital investments projects. * Participate on continuous improvement project teams. * Provide technical assistance to maintenance supervisor as needed. * Must consistently work toward a record of performance demonstrating strong leadership skills and be "result" oriented, with highly effective interpersonal skills. * Must consistently work toward and demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and organizational skills. * Assure confidentiality of proprietary or sensitive information. * Other tasks and duties as assigned Requirements/Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in sustainable environmental resource management or similar science/engineering, EHS or an equivalent related field * Three years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required * Knowledge of ISO 50001 (energy) and ISO 14001 (environmental) regulatory standards; knowledge of ISO 45001 a plus * Familiar with OSHA, NFPA, Ansi, EPA, RCRA standards * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with SharePoint a plus * Strong communication skills, oral and written; detail oriented * Robust project management skills * Self-motivated, analytical and mechanical/mathematical aptitude * Ability to work within and facilitate a team environment * Ability to use sound, prudent and independent judgment * Ability to foster and develop a cooperative work environment; ability to influence without direct reporting responsibilities * Ability to obtain/maintain required RCRA, OSHA and other EHS compliance certifications * Some travel may be required What You'll Love About SKF:Rest and Relaxation.
