- Works 8-10 hours per day, often for 6 consecutive days during winter season, November through April; up to 8 hours per day, 5 days per week during summer season
- More than 75% of shift is working outdoors, in extreme weather conditions and temperatures
- Frequent standing while performing manual labor, normally for an entire shift
- Moderate exposure to exhaust fumes and loud noises

Experience/Training/Education:
Required:
- Possess mechanical aptitude and have knowledge of proper use of basic automotive tools
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old and posses a valid California driver's license
- Must have clean DMV and submit license information for the DMV Pull Notice Program, a program that monitors license activity such as tickets, DUI's and suspensions, and forwards to employer.
- Will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen each season
- Will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical
Desired:
- Working knowledge of a 12vdc electrical system; basic hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Welding ability, heavy equipment, operations, electronics or industrial electrical experience
Knowledge/skills/abilities:
In addition to mechanical aptitude, candidate should possess and utilize their own basic automotive tools. Have ability to read and understand technical manuals and training manuals and perform basic math.
Environmental Elements:
Work may be strenuous at times and performed during inclement weather and on challenging terrain. The temperature can range from well below freezing to in excess of 80 degrees Fahrenheit with high winds, snow, rain, and dense fog and intense sun. The terrain is often on uneven and icy ground. Protective equipment is strongly recommended including full sun protection, adequate clothing for conditions and expected conditions.

Work as a lift mechanic on all Bretton Woods gondola and chairlifts.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance as needed on all ski lifts according to industry and manufacture recommendations.
* Maintenance includes line machinery repairs, hydraulic part maintenance, electrical work, non destructive testing of welds on chair parts and grips, terminal repairs and inspections.
* Responsible for understanding full operation of each lift including transfer to auxiliary power as needed.
* Assists in training lift operations staff during winter ski season.
* Assist Lift Maintenance Director as needed on major lift repairs and projects.
* Coordinate work projects based on annual maintenance needs.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
* Follow and comply with all Resort safety rules and use appropriate safety equipment at all times.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Responsible to perform regular maintenance of lifts to ensure the highest quality of safety and operation.
- Morning lift start up and pre-operational inspections.
- Complete lift maintenance paperwork (logs, TSBs, etc...)
- Daily Lift Checks.
- Snowmobile operator training.
- Able to fulfill all level 4 qualifications.
- Basic welding and metal skills (not certified).
- Ability to be lead mechanic in detach terminal work.
- Ability to service Riblet Chairs/Clips in entirety.
- Ability to service Yan Chairs/Grips in entirety.
- Ability to be lead mechanic on summer line crew.
- Basic knowledge of detachable grip rebuilding.
- Basic rigging knowledge.
- Ability to change detach PTO.
- Good basic low voltage troubleshooting.
- Good basic understanding of lift hydraulics.
- Ability to ski to any tower with tools.
- Should have begun developing the ability to teach skills to others.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment should be above minimum.
- Tool set should be reasonably extensive.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of lift maintenance experience required.
- Knowledge of ANSI B77 codes.
- NDT Level 2 certification a plus.
- Knowledge in working with counterweight tensioning systems.
