Position Summary: Sets up and operates machine that performs multiple operations such as forming, welding, twisting, and calibrating to form chain metal rod or wire.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Selects, installs, and aligns tooling, coppers, cutting tools, guides, and stops to set up machine.
Sets controls to synchronize machine actions for various operations on chain in specified sequence.
Positions coil of metal wire or rod on feed spindle and threads it through straightening rolls into feed mechanism.
Starts machine to produce sample product and measures for conformance with specifications.
Adjusts settings of controls, as required, to obtain product meeting specifications and quality standards.
Starts machine to begin production and observes machine operations for evidence of malfunction and products for defects.
Repairs or replaces worn/broken tooling/machine parts in tool holders or machines to maintain efficient machine use insuring product specifications.
Observes machine operation and continually monitors quality of product to certain specifications.
Reads and understands product schedule to insure proper rod or wire are being used for product being run.
Maintains machines and work area by keeping both clean.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated mechanical ability, ideally within a manufacturing environment
Must be able to use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
Must be able to read blue prints
Must be able to use hand and power tools
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, or crawl
Must be able to lift 25lbs, at times may be asked to lift more
Environment is non-climate controlled
Production floor is typically loud
Must wear required PPE
