Position Summary: Assist crews in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground traffic signal/roadway lighting systems. This entry-level position supports crew members by preparing job sites, handling tools and materials, and ensuring worksite safety and efficiency. Responsibilities: * Assist in setting up and maintaining safe work zones (e.g., flagging traffic, placing signs and cones). * Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials. * Pull ropes and guide electrical cables during installation. * Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision. * Clean and maintain tools, vehicles, and work areas. * Assist with framing poles, installing hardware, and preparing underground conduit. * Dig holes and trenches using manual or powered tools. * Handle the disposal of old equipment and debris from job sites. * Observe and follow safety procedures and company regulations. * Learn and apply basic knowledge of electrical systems and utility operations. * Report equipment issues or safety hazards to supervisors immediately. Requirements: * Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. * Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance. * Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the jobsite, inspectors, customers, and the public. * Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds. * Must properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment. * Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.
