For more information, visit *************** Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Director, Global Security leads the development and execution of a comprehensive global security strategy for a medical device company operating in over 90 countries. This executive-level role is responsible for protecting the organization's people, assets, information, and reputation through proactive risk management, compliance oversight, and crisis preparedness. The role requires strategic vision, operational excellence, and the ability to navigate complex and ambiguous environments. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership - Develop and implement a global security strategy aligned with corporate objectives. Security Management - Lead a high-performing global security team, including internal staff and co-sourced partners. Brand Ambassador - Establish and maintain a world-class security culture, awareness, and training program. Fiscal Responsibility - Develop and manage the global security budget, ensuring efficiency and productivity Risk Assessment - Conduct global risk assessments to identify threats to people, property, and reputation. Legal Processes - Support litigation matters and liaise with law enforcement on criminal investigations. Your qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree or its non-U.S. equivalent - required. Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate and/or government security (law enforcement or other relevant experience) with a preference for experience in a global multinational corporation. Experience in international security operations, especially the US-Mexico Border. English language fluency required. Travel: 25-50% global travel, often on short notice. Must be available 24/7 for emergencies and business continuity needs. ABOUT THE JOB The ACLU seeks applicants for the full-time position of Staff Attorney, Senior Staff Attorney, or Senior Counsel in the Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative of the ACLU's National office in New York, NY or Washington, DC. This position may be eligible for remote work in the United States. If hybrid, there is an in-office requirement of two (2) days per week or eight (8) days per month. This is a term-limited position with an end date of December 31, 2027. The position has an ideal start date of January 2026. The Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative (ACDI) is a first-of-its-kind program of the ACLU to confront the criminalization of abortion care in the aftermath of the U.S. Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade . The ACDI team manages a network of experienced criminal defenders nationwide who are trusted partners, ready to represent people at risk of abortion-related criminal investigations and prosecutions. ACDI attorneys provide legal, strategic, and logistical assistance to support local counsel and drive a nationwide, coordinated defense response against the criminalization of reproductive healthcare. In addition, ACDI attorneys collaborate closely with other projects in the ACLU's national office as well as ACLU affiliates to lead advocacy and litigation to mitigate the harms of abortion criminalization and expand access to abortion care. The ACDI is situated between the ACLU's Trone Center for Justice and Equality and the Reproductive Freedom Project. We will review applications on a rolling basis, but priority consideration will be given to those who submit applications by November 21, 2025. This position is part of a collective bargaining unit. It is represented by ACLU Staff United (ASU). WHAT YOU'LL DO Reporting to the Director of the Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative, the Staff Attorney, Senior Staff Attorney, or Senior Counsel will be focused on two related goals: (1) partnering with local defense counsel to represent people facing abortion related prosecution or investigation threats; (2) identifying opportunities and assisting in implementation of affirmative advocacy and litigation strategies to reduce the harms of laws that criminalize abortion access. In addition to partnering with local criminal defense attorneys, the Staff Attorney, Senior Staff Attorney, or Senior Counsel will work closely with attorneys in the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project and other advocates in the Reproductive Rights and Justice movement. This role will include driving coordination between legal teams for clients facing multiple criminal and civil threats related to abortion. It may also include working with stakeholders and decision-makers, for example, with state attorneys general and governors, to fight against abortion criminalization harms. Definition POLICE OFFICERUnder general supervision, is responsible for serving and protecting the community by performing crime prevention, criminal investigations, and law enforcement activities; performs related duties as required. With a Police Officer certification, you may bypass the Police Officer Civil Service Exam. In accordance with Civil Service Rule VIII(A)(1) - An open eligible list shall be prepared for all other applicants who: 1. attained a final passing grade or, 2. in the case of the Police Officer classification, the applicant possesses Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training certification or comparable state peace officer certification; and in either case submit any required supplementary materials identified. The names of eligibles on the open eligible list shall be arranged in the order of test grades earned, except for certified peace officer applicants whose names will be placed in the highest band on the current Police Officer eligible list as a result of their certification. TRAINING REQUIRED AFTER A FINAL OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT: Those who MAY be selected to attend our inside Ohio lateral academy (5weeks): Current Ohio police officers with three or more years of continuous service in law enforcement other than the City of Columbus. Current Ohio police officers who have previously attended and graduated from the Columbus Division of Police Training Academy and currently work in a law enforcement capacity with another Ohio agency. Refer to the complete list of experiences that may qualify for the 5-week inside Ohio lateral class. After completion of five weeks of Certified Lateral Training, officers will complete a 12-week Field Training program on Patrol. Those who must attend the full academy (31 weeks): Certified applicants with no police officer experience. Certified police officers from jurisdictions outside of Ohio. Police officers with fewer than three years of service as a police officer who did not previously graduate from the Columbus Division of Police Training Academy.
