This position reports to the Vice President, Senior Associate Counsel with a reporting matrix to the Chief Information Officer. Advise on incident response plans, breach notification procedures, and risk mitigation strategies. Stay abreast of emerging threats and evolving best practices. Provide legal support for hospital-wide policies on technology use, social media, device management, remote work, mobile access to sensitive information, and enterprise risk for information technology. Ensure policies reflect current legal requirements and operational needs. Support the hospital in managing disputes or litigation related to technology vendors, data breaches, intellectual property claims, and other technology-related matters. Coordinate with litigation counsel as needed. Education and Training: Provide ongoing education to staff and leadership on legal implications of technology adoption, emerging regulatory requirements, and evolving risks in the health technology landscape. Using Alteryx to build automated workflows based on provided business requirements and data specifications. The Role The Bioinformatics Co-op will support Moderna's Research and Technology Development teams in applying Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) sequencing for characterization of RNA and DNA. This role is designed for a student eager to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge long-read sequencing analyses, contribute to reproducible workflows, and help shape emerging bioinformatics processes. While the position will be primarily focused on Technology Development, you will also gain exposure to Platform and Therapeutic Area projects, learning how ONT data is used across the discovery and development pipeline for mRNA medicines. Here's What You'll Do Perform hands-on ONT sequencing data analyses, including basecalling, alignment, quality control, and visualization. Build and maintain Jupyter notebook workflows to streamline analysis and reporting. Assist in developing prototype pipelines for ONT data processing as processes become formalized. Collaborate with wet-lab scientists to understand experimental context and provide feedback based on data analysis. Document workflows, organize datasets, and contribute to best practices for reproducibility. Present findings and progress to the team in clear and accessible ways. Support additional cross-functional projects as opportunities arise.
