Responsibilities: Attend Seasonal Staff Training (May 18-29, 2026) Attend High Risk Certification & Leadership Training (May 11-15, 2026) Manage and train the hourly certified aquatics team in coordination with the Program Coordinator to maintain effective scheduling and coverage Manage tasks related to opening/closing the pool, boat house, and fishing dock for the season Provide feedback, support, and formal evaluations to each team member throughout the summer Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to review Program Specialist plans and support the intentional design and implementation of outcome-driven programming in assigned areas Support the Aquatics Team in the modification and adaptation of activities in response to weather and to meet medical, psychosocial, accessibility, and other camper needs to ensure an inclusive experience Collaborate with the Program Coordinator in the preparation, purchase order, and record-keeping of inventory of supplies in assigned areas Oversee and perform daily pool cleaning, record chemical levels, and be prepared for various other emergency protocols Assist the Cabin Life team with maintaining appropriate supervision of campers, including providing overnight coverage in cabins as needed Requirements: Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience Ability to move across camp grounds and between buildings and activity areas multiple times each day Ability to perform job functions outside during summer months (humidity, heat, rain) Hold or obtain valid Lifeguard & CPR for Professional Rescuer Certifications Strong understanding of waterfront risk management and emergency planning while keeping safety first in all situations Demonstrated professionalism and strong leadership skills Ability to manage a detailed schedule for a large team Experience training, certifying or leading adults Ability to support with program set up and tear down (including movement of materials up to 50 lbs.) This is a full-time, 12-month, continuing, Administrative and Professional Staff position, reporting to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education and working with the Head Coach of Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving/Aquatic Director. Responsibilities This position will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach of Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving/Aquatic Director in all aspects of coaching, recruiting, and administering within the swimming & diving program as well as aquatic facility and lifeguard management. Implements coaching strategies and methods to help student-athletes' growth in athletic, interpersonal, academic, and teamwork skills; analyzes performance of team and adjusts strategies as needed; plans and conducts practices and other activities in preparation for competition; and actively recruits competitive and qualified individuals. Assists with the management of the team budget; monitors expenditures to ensure that proscribed limitations are adhered; ensures that all expenditures are properly documented and in compliance with university and NCAA regulations. Helps identify and develop team strategy for recruitment; analyzes future needs; creates promotional strategy for contacting and recruiting prospective student athletes; develops promotional correspondence and materials for distribution to prospective recruits; conducts recruiting calls, trips and activities. The incumbent will also have secondary department and physical education administrative responsibilities including scheduling pool rentals, supervising and acting as a member of the lifeguard staff, and assisting with rec center facility management. Essential Job Functions Marginal Job Functions Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; two years of coaching experience preferably at the collegiate level; strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills; ability to recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes; organize official visits including assigning hosts, and create itineraries while adhering to all NCAA Division III regulations. Current certification as an American Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Instructor is highly recommended. Knowledge of Hy-Tek Software and Divemeets.com is desirable as well.
