ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (MR Technologist): Performs diagnostic radiography procedures Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner. Prepares patient for procedures; provides instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Selects and operates radiography equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results. Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort. Immobilizes patients as required for appropriate examination. Initiates basic life support action when necessary. Assists licensed practitioners with Fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures. Computed Tomography specific duties Operates Computed Tomographic equipment and accessories. Selects appropriate program for the desired protocol. Understands methods of and can perform venipuncture. Evaluates images for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, assuring proper identification. Maintains archival storage of digitized data as appropriate. Maintains knowledge of and observes Universal precautions. Provides patient education. Completed Computed tomography skills check by CT advanced user. Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum). Performs other related duties as assigned.
