The internship will provide you with unique experiences on challenging projects throughout the US while providing you the opportunity to participate in several of the activities it takes to successfully build our projects. We're looking for the future leaders of our company and those who are inspired to go beyond the expected. Assisting with project record keeping, preparing shop drawings, and assisting with cost control records. 2. Assisting with report preparation, safety inspections, submittal logging and processing. 3. Assisting with time keeping and cost control, inventory control, schedule checking, subcontractor monitoring. 5. Attending bid openings, conferences, etc.; taking notes, making records, completing forms. 6. Observing and reporting results of meeting and conducting site tours for visitors . 7. Preparing quantity take-offs, calling vendors and sub-contractors for proposals. 8. Working as a manual laborer, helper, clerk or technician assistant, etc. Minimum Job Requirements 1. About this Role Job Title: Engineering Intern The Engineering Coop or Intern will be responsible for the preparation and development of designs for complex power generation and distribution projects. This work will be performed under direct supervision of a more senior engineer. What You'll Do · Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering related issues. · Utilize analytical, CAD, and mathematical skills to support the team with related projects, under the direction of experienced team members. · Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings. · Prepare reports and studies that represent technical information in a clear and concise manner to meet client requirements as needed. · Participate in design activities in compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements. · Assist engineers & designers to produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs. · Collaborate with Project Engineers in the review of scope, design, cost, schedule, and completion of engineering projects. · Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrently, adjusting to a constant shift in project priority and deadlines. We're looking for an Operations Engineering Summer Intern to join our American Ordnance team located in Middletown, IA! You will get to work under the supervision of an experienced engineer. This role provides the opportunity to continuously improve processes and systems under their control and to meet customer needs, both internal and external. The internship tasks will be focused in the area in line with your education and ability. As the Operations Engineering Summer Intern, here's the work you'll do: * Will prepare and update operator procedures for the shop floor. * Address daily production related issues on shop floor. * Participate in continuous improvement projects. * Maintain direct labor standards. * Maintain process layouts. This role is for you if you have these skills: * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. * Ability to handle multiple duties simultaneously. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. * Knowledge in Word, Access, Excel, AutoCAD, Outlook and other software programs as needed. * Ability to prepare well written procedures and technical reports.
