The successful candidate will assist engineers in developing hardware and software solutions used for the characterization and design verification testing of RF front-end modules, filters, low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), and power amplifiers.
Term: Summer Intern (May '26 - August '26)
Responsibilities
* Support the development of next-generation systems and design enhancements for existing products
* Participate in the transition to production efforts for various RF products
* Build a state-of-the-art network simulator for wireless networks, including cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, and other emerging technologies.
* Utilize Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS) for RF design tasks
* Engage in RF system design, including schematic capture and layout using ADS or Mentor Expedition
* Conduct 2-D, 2.5-D, and 3-D Electromagnetic Simulation
* Update design documentation as needed
* Perform RF test and evaluation using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and frequency generators
Required Experience and Skills
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
* Passion for RF, wireless, or communications technologies
* Familiarity with lab equipment and basic RF principles
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Bonus: Experience with scripting or automation tools

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Surfscan group includes a team of engineers, technology development, apps engineers and product marketing focused on technology that enables wafer, IC and equipment manufacturers to develop, qualify and monitor their process tools. Defects and process non-uniformities detected on Surfscan equipment allow for early identification of yield excursions. The flagship Surfscan products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and wafer defect inspection tools and systems for inspection of polished wafers, epi wafers and engineered substrates during the wafer fabrication process.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
SFS systems design team is seeking a summer intern to develop and perform measurements and alignments on optical test benches to qualify subsystem level components and modules such as sensors, actuators, and light sources. The intern will then analyze the quantitative data to provide qualitative results and drive decisions. It is also desired for the intern to have the ability to model the expected results.
The individual is expected to be highly motivated and able to work independently with guidance from senior engineers.
Preferred Qualification:
* Background in engineering or physics with experience in optics.
* Candidate is currently in graduate level studies.
* Hands on experience in laboratory environment.
* Experience with laser systems, optical alignment, and detection systems.
* Scripting experience with MATLAB, Python, etc.
