The Team Member will be able to participate in all aspects of the Manufacturing Process. The Manufacturing Process includes semi-automatic loading of glass vials, caps and seals into manufacturing machinery, semi-automatic unloading of finished product from the manufacturing machinery and the set-up/tear-down and line clearances of the manufacturing equipment. The Senior Team Member (Lead) will be able to perform, oversee and provide signatory approval of all activities associated with the manufacturing process in the absence of the Filling Supervisor. The Senior Team Member will be able to provide direction, training and mentorship to all junior Filling Operators as needed. The Senior Team Member will be the responsible person for the proper use of batch documentation. The Senior Team Member will be able to troubleshoot most manufacturing processes and equipment and where necessary make adjustments and minor repairs during setup and during operations. The Senior Team Member will be able to create and perform parameter setup activities for all manufacturing technologies using the HMI-PLC/SCADA control/data systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Education Requirements and Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED required. Technical degree and/or some college in a relevant field is a plus.
* At least 1 year as a Filling Operator II or above, having performed at or above a satisfactory level II or 3-5 years' work experience in a related field preferred.
* 1 year experience in a training role preferred.
* HMI-PLC/SCADA control data system experience is a plus.
* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
* Possesses mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on manufacturing equipment.
* Ability to take feedback constructively and function in a team-oriented work environment.
* Must be able to read documents in Standard English such as Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance schedules and operating manuals.

JOB SUMMARY: The person who occupies this position is expected to adjust gluing machines in order to process a flat carton order and oversee its production (complex glue experience a plus).
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to, the following.
* The operator is responsible for adjusting glue machinery to fit the particular style of carton being processed.
* Once production begins, the operator is responsible for maintaining machinery at optimum speed. When malfunctions occur, the operator is to be able to detect the cause and make appropriate adjustments as quickly as possible.
* The operator is responsible for the members of the crew working on gluer machinery. Is fully responsible in ensuring team members are working efficiently and safely. The operator is also responsible for training feeder/catcher trainees as necessary.
* Must assume duties of the Feeder or Inspector when those persons are on breaks (see job description for Feeder/Catcher). The Operator performs the activities of Feeder/Inspector for approximately 2 hours per day.
* Responsible for performing maintenance duties on gluer machinery; greasing, oiling, blowing off machinery, glue pot maintenance, bearing and belt replacement, and cleaning parts.
* Able to maintain written and electronic (SAP) records of quality and production, and Ignition software. Operator goes through hourly statistical measurements (carton alignment, edge caliper, opening force, glue length, etc.)
* Responsible for making labels per customer specs.
* Ability and Positive attitude to teach and help fellow operators to troubleshoot all problems when called upon to do so.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
* 1-2 years of machine operator experience required
* Mechanical/technical aptitude
* Entry-level computer skills
* All requirements for Machine Gluer Operator in addition to the ability to set up and troubleshoot Leary, Mactron, Alpina, and Pafra glue systems
* Feeder/Inspector experience preferred. Mechanical experience is helpful (automotive, small engine repair, etc.)

* Schedules are up to 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off. However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends, and be punctual while doing so.

* The Filler Operator is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through the operation of the filler of various product families following regulatory standards, ensuring the product is clean and sterile.
* Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line.
* Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
* Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product.
* Make adjustments to filler timing and filling, & check mat as needed.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
* Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing.
* Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.

* Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
* Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
* Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.

**JOB SUMMARY:**
The finishing operator is responsible for the machine setup, adjustments, make-readies, assist with maintenance, troubleshooting quality issues, and operation of their assigned folding gluing machine. While operating the machine, they are responsible for safely and efficiently manufacturing high quality folding cartons at or above target run speeds while minimizing waste and downtime. The machine operator is the leader of the crew and oversees the activities of the feeder packers working on that machine. The operator must obtain and review the job ticket for items, quantities, caliper of the paperboard, and any special instruction that is informational for running the order to specification. The case specification must also be reviewed to make sure that the instructions are clear and concise prior to running the order. The operator is responsible for ensuring all make-readies are put on as quickly as possible. The operator inspects the product quality including folded score caliper, proper gluing and stacking, carton and score alignment, and case fit, and ensures that the machine is in good running condition. The operator ensures that the Leary glue and mix detection system is constantly functioning correctly. The operator is also responsible for shutting down the machine if it is to be left unattended. This position reports to the Finishing Lead, Shift Supervisor and Finishing Manager.
