Position Summary
| Slippery Rock University (SRU) invites applications for a part-time, temporary faculty position in Construction Management for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses spanning foundational construction management topics to upper-division and capstone courses. Instructional areas include, but are not limited to, construction methods and materials, project scheduling, sustainable development, cost estimation, quality surveying and document analysis, the use of relevant software applications such as Primavera, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and others. As the department expands its Construction Management program, it seeks candidates with expertise in contemporary construction management practices. The ideal candidate will utilize effective pedagogy and incorporate project-based learning strategies to enhance student engagement and success.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction in Construction Management.
* Assist in developing and updating curriculum materials to reflect current industry standards.
* Support students in career development by building and maintaining strong industry partnerships.
* Engage in departmental and university service activities, including contributions to accreditation processes such as ABET.
Minimum Qualifications
* A Master's degree with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related discipline
* Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration.
* Relevant industry experience in Construction Management.
Preferred Qualifications
* 3+ years of professional experience in construction management.
* Demonstrated expertise in scheduling, estimating, and team management within construction management projects.
* Proficiency with industry-standard software, including Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff.
* Completion of OSHA 30-hour training.
* Professional experience bridging both construction management and civil engineering disciplines.
* Experience implementing project-based learning and innovative teaching methodologies.
* Active participation in professional construction management organizations.
* Familiarity and experience with accreditation processes, particularly ABET.

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs, adjunct professors are responsible for teaching one or more sections of our Business Law in-person seated class on our Chester, PA campus. Required:
* Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management or related law program
* Professional and/or teaching experience in areas such as employment law, consumer/intellectual protection, business entities/organizations, contracts, and corporate ethics
Preferred:
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree
* Familiarity with Canvas Learning Management Systems (LMS)
