Job Description Position: Repair Shop Equipment Technician Overview: Tune up your mechanical skills and build a great career. If you want to learn how to repair and service outdoor power equipment to the highest standards, Big Tool Box is the place for you! Position will repair engines and perform scheduled maintenance on a wide variety of customer-owned and store-owned rental equipment. Requirements

Minimum education requirements: • High School Diploma or GED required Minimum experience requirements: • Experience in small engines or an aptitude for general mechanics • 2-stroke engine experience Position requirements: • Skill in establishing priorities and managing both workload and time wisely • Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and co-workers • Ability to work with a team • Ability to follow verbal and written work direction • Ability to multitask and follow through on work assignments, especially those that are detailed • Ability to follow health and safety compliance Essential Job Functions: • Diagnose and repair vehicles to ensure customers can receive repaired equipment and feel safe and able to use the equipment with ease • Work as part of a team to solve technical and mechanical problems quickly and efficiently • Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness and organization $15.00-$21.00

Responsibilities:

* Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on light construction equipment and turf equipment.
* Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

* Preferably one year of experience in performing service repairs on mowing equipment and handheld power equipment.
* Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
* Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment.
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Valid Driver's license.

The pay range for this position is $18-$32 per hour based on experience.

You Have:

• At least one year of experience repairing and maintaining small engines, large lawn equipment, generators, commercial pressure washing units, mowers, tillers, and other related equipment with a track record of success.
• The skills to clearly explain and communicate to the customer's satisfaction the diagnosis and repair of the machine in a professional manner to provide a positive experience.
• Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness, while providing a valued quality solution to the customer.
• The ability to recognize and observe all safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
• The desire to treat others with respect and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
• The ability to understand and follow instructions and promptly respond to direction.
• The drive to work with integrity, always upholding company values, while operating a profitable service business.

You Might Also Have:

• Knowledge of small engine theory (2 and 4 stroke): lubrication, cooling, ignition and fuel systems.
• Certifications in major manufacture brands like Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, Generac, MTD, etc. Master certification is a plus!
• Extensive experience with electrical systems, plunger driven or axial pressure washer pumps and unloader systems, hydraulic theory, and associated diagnostic equipment and procedures.
• Proven track record of business development - Business to Business, Business to Consumer.
• Strong organizational and computer skills (fluent in Microsoft Office products).
