PURPOSE The purpose of the Plant Maintenance Technician is to perform general building repairs, basic utility installation and preventive maintenance tasks of plant facilities Ability to perform all aspects of Plant Maintenance Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks
Dismantle, move, install or repair machinery and mechanical equipment
Layout, assemble, install, test, repair and adjust electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment and wiring.
Ensure that all work conforms with requirements of all applicable codes
Install power and air drops to equipment
Perform general building repairs (electrical, mechanical, plumbing)
General pipefitting work
Remove snow from walkways and steps using all means provided and necessary
Makes sure that general supplies are maintained and well stocked and kept in an orderly fashion
Assumes leadership role in department and helps guide lesser experienced individuals to prepare them for higher level positions
Keep maintenance areas clean and organized; ensure tools and equipment are stored properly
Respond to service requests and work orders as assigned
Ensure adherence to all safety protocols
Escort vendors or contractors as required and assist with setup for projects or repairs
Additional duties as assigned by Maintenance Group Leader commensurate with experience and skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
The person is frequently required to lift 50 pounds or greater, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to hear and talk.
The work environment will expose employee to the following elements: Noise, Heat, Cold, Dust, Oil, Grease
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work well in a team environment
3-5 years prior Plant Maintenance experience
