This position will be responsible for loading and unloading product, as well as other daily operational functions. In this role, will also perform the last quality check before the product is delivered to the customer, and effectively manage inventory by maintaining proper rotation of product.
Accountabilities:
* Responsible for proper cycling and rotation of product by lot code and date received.
* Set proper shipping temperatures on the outbound vehicles.
* Handle all shipping and receiving functions within the system.
* Maintain inventory integrity and control.
* Schedule orders for the days' deliveries.
* Verify and make corrections to orders prior shipping.
* Complete out/inbound and outbound load sheets.
* Assist with special projects as needed.
Minimum Skills Required:
High School Diploma, or equivalent, from an accredited institution.
Forklift Certified.
At least 1 to 2 years forklift certified.
Strong communication skills (i.e. written and oral).

Set clear expectations:

Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are looking for a Mechanic 2nd Class to be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA.

Key Responsibilities:
Observes mechanical devices in operation and determines root cause of failures and needed repairs based upon observations.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove, replace and or repair defective parts.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Requirements :
4+ years verifiable related experience and high level of proficiency in 2 or more skills: instrumentation, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, metal fabrication, boiler repairs and operation, ammonia system maintenance, pump rebuilds, and/or lathe and milling machine proficiency; Associate degree or technical school certification preferred.
Proficiency in welding in at least one of the following: TIG, MIG, or SMAW Oxy-Acetylene.
Able to read, write, and speak English and keep record of daily repairs and work performed.
Able to use a computer for ordering supplies, research, email, and training.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended schedule, and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.
Compensation:
The hourly union wage is $29.12.

Responsibilities: Responsible for evaluating and improving plant performance in the areas of safety, quality, production output and operating cost. Position performs research, conducts experiments, gathers data and develops preliminary findings. Study current production facilities and recommend improvements utilizing the Boise Improvement Cycle.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for in-house engineering feasibility studies, system trials, cost estimates, capital project planning, design, scheduling and installations that optimize new and existing equipment.
Responsible for all aspects of capital project management.
Work closely with plant management and maintenance personnel to correct production issues and ensure operating efficiencies.
Demonstrate adaptability and openness to change and ability to anticipate problems and provide innovative solutions through data driven analytics.
Maintain and gain relevant knowledge keep abreast of industry standards, best practices, and technological advances that maximize operating efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science is required, preferably in engineering, wood products or business. Developmental position designed to provide the individual with the technical aspects of the business or discipline and the environment to exercise the practical application of their education and experience. The incumbent will have the opportunity for exposure to various facets of the business and to develop an in-depth understanding of the operations/function at the region or plant level.
Preferred Qualifications: Prefer degree in Business, Engineering, or Wood Products (Natural Resources) and between 0-4 years of experience in related job function. The successful candidate will possess the ability to understand and apply mathematical calculations and concepts, computer skills in many types of applications as well as excellent communication skills and will be able to work a flexible schedule. Continuous manufacturing operation experience and knowledge of wood products recommended; knowledge of continuous improvement tools, facilitation, troubleshooting and process controls a plus.
Decision-Making/Supervisory:
Decisions are limited to immediate scope of work. Supervisor guidance and routine review of work characteristic for this level.
Scope:
To provide the opportunity and environment for an individual to develop broad, comprehensive knowledge and experience, in a plant environment, of the overall business, including but not limited to: safety, manufacturing processes and products, supervision, human resources, process improvement, engineering, finance, special projects, etc.
Compensation:
$52,000-$78,000 per year
