Production employees at Smithfield handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly to America's dinner table. Production team members at Smithfield perform physically demanding work that requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength and stamina. Required to load 36 bags of product per minute.
Able to perform set up and change seal bars as needed throughout the shift.

Ability to lift, bend, reach, push, pull or roll product weighing up to 30 pounds continuously.
Capable of working at a moving loading station.
Monitors machine operation and settings, makes appropriate adjustments to ensure standards set by management are adhered to and to minimize/eliminate waste; contact supervisor to resolve difficulties beyond what incumbent is trained/authorized to handle.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions
Perform a task requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms
Stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift
Work around animal blood and/or carcass parts
Work with a knife (if trained)
Work in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees)
Work in an environment that is wet and humid

The Food Safety & Quality Systems Specialist supports the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of FSQA data acquisition and reporting systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Technical Development & Tools: Develop and maintain solutions using tools such as SQL, Visual Basic, ASP.Net, Excel, Access, or other technologies within the Smithfield IT ecosystem.
Reporting & Analytics Development: Create and maintain reports, dashboards, web pages, applications, and tracking tools (e.g., scorecards, frequency reports, complaint reports, inventory observations) to support data-driven decision making.
Documentation & Standards: Ensure all reports, systems, and processes are fully documented and meet FSQA and organizational standards.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute meaningfully to continuous improvement efforts by streamlining systems, simplifying reporting, and eliminating unnecessary or redundant reports where feasible.
WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

Principal Accountabilities
Using hand tools to perform maintenance on production machinery
Ensuring food safety and quality
Cleanliness and housekeeping
Responding to radio calls from other departments (production, food safety, safety,etc) for maintenance related actions
Communicating with other departments and other maintenance shifts to ensure proper pass down of maintenance related issues to the next shift
