Production employees at Smithfield handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly to America's dinner table. Production team members at Smithfield perform physically demanding work that requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength and stamina. Develops routines and monitoring processes (including audits) to ensure 5S is successful and sustained over time.
Prepares presentations on PowerPoint and perform other administrative tasks (prepare minutes of meeting, tables and graphs to document improvement results).
Supports other continuous improvement projects, including Kaizen and waste reduction, as required by the Quality Manager and Lean Continuous Improvement Program Manager.
Other responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Electrical Engineering degree (preferred), or a related field with proven experience in electrical machines.
2- 4 years of experience in quality or electrical testing.
Practical and theoretical knowledge of key electrical tests (vibration, surge, hipot, IR/PI, winding resistance, etc.).
Familiarity with IEEE/NEMA/IEC standards and ISO 9001.
Ability to lead and coordinate technical teams.
Knowledge in planning (plan daily activities with the team and inspection and testing activities) and quality tools.
Knowledge of electrical safety requirements and instrument calibration.
Be proactive to keep the Quality programs (5S, Visual Management, Routine Management, etc.).
Strong commitment to ethical, safety, and quality standards consistent with the WEG Code of Ethics.
Physical Requirements
Several tasks require to work in leaning over, extended back position repeatedly, occasionally tight spaces, squatting, and kneeling.
Physical ability to travel freely within manufacturing and office facilities. This requires climbing stairs and moving around, and about shop machinery.
Have the physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted.
