We are currently seeking talented, career minded individual(s) to work as Construction Inspector(s) in Central, Southern, Western, and Eastern Maine. This is a summer intern position working on Maine Department of Transportation construction inspection assignments, beginning on or around May 15, 2025, to late August. Work may include providing inspection on roadway paving, rehabilitation and reconstruction projects. This internship is ideal for someone currently in college focused on engineering or engineering technology and looking to gain practical, hands-on experience with inspection and oversight of roadway construction projects Pay: $18+ an hour CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR INTERN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Inspection duties will include basic construction inspection, measurement and documentation of construction activities, computation of quantities and checking work for compliance with specifications. Work may also include performing basic field testing and communicating the test results to your supervisor as well as collecting quantity tickets on paving projects. Work beyond eight hours per day/40 hours per week is typically required. Time over 40 hours a week is compensated for at time-and-a-half. Night and weekend work may also be required.
