Job Description As part of the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) team you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional engineering team. You will participate in a wide range of design activities and help with developing the control panel design, performing calculations related to instrumentation selection, developing process control documents and generating PLC/HMI programs for cutting-edge water and wastewater treatment systems. Nature of work: In this role, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): ● Collaborate in project design review meetings. ● Help create single line diagrams, load lists and control panel schematic drawings. ● Perform required calculations to select the appropriate instrumentation for water treatment facilities and prepare supporting documentation (instrument & valve lists, instrument & valve datasheets, instrument installation diagrams, etc.). ● Develop controls documents and PLC/HMI Programs for water and wastewater treatment systems. ● Contribute to the development of company standards and templates. ● Develop team productivity tools. ● Support with project issue resolution related to design, start-up and performance. Qualifications ● Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other related technical discipline. Useful skills or abilities While on-the-job training will be provided, candidates may benefit from previous knowledge and exposure in the following areas: ● Understanding of hydraulics and fundamentals of fluid mechanics. ● Understanding of basic water chemistry and/or treatment processes. ● Understanding of process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), process controls, and electrical design concepts. ● Water treatment experience would be an asset.
