Uses structural engineering tools and implements appropriate standards to design Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures including post-processing analytical results and designing structures for various material types (concrete, steel, etc). Interfaces with NuScale Licensing in support of domestic and international regulatory efforts. Interacts with other disciplines and structural engineering consultants in an effort to allow effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems. Individuals should possess or acquire general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields in order to function on multi-disciplinary teams. Provides guidance and mentoring to other staff members in support of the team's technical activities. Develops and reviews requirements documents, methodology documents, design reports, and studies. Possess strong written and oral communication skills and routinely interacts with contractors and/or regulatory bodies. Interacts with co-workers and other disciplines to promote effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems. MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES: Education/Certification: A minimum of a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school is required. An advanced degree is preferred. A registered professional engineer license (P.E.) is strongly preferred. Experience: Minimum of 12 years of full-time, highly relevant experience as a Structural Design Engineer is required. Extensive use and understanding of ANSYS is required. Must have in-depth understanding of engineering concepts, principles, theories, strong technical writing skills as well as good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills. Exceptional organization and time management skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases is required. Additional experience in the following areas: Design and analysis of structures, including concrete and steel, use of design software and finite element method analyses. Working with the following codes preferred: ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349 & 318, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC N690, Steel Construction Manual and Seismic Design Manual. Computer programing skills (e.g. Matlab, or Python) is not required, but preferred. Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810. The Opportunity: As a Senior SCADA Engineer with Enel Green Power North America, you will be assigned technical tasks of maintenance and projects on SCADA systems for renewable generation and BESS systems. Supervised by the Manager, Scada and Controls, your role will be to maintain the fleet of SCADA systems for Enel Green Power North America generation plants through various tasks such as planned maintenance, troubleshooting, incident management, change requests, take part to the definition of evolution plan and projects, major system upgrades, cyber security projects, etc. Tasks will be mostly driven by the business needs from Operations. What You'll Do at Enel North America: * Work on incidents and change management requests in close coordination with the EGPNA ICS Service Desk to ensure high system availability and reliability. Tasks include advanced troubleshooting, coordination with contractors and software supplier's expert, root cause analysis, etc. Intervention is performed mainly remote. * Write, review and update work incident reports and operating procedures; * Collaborate with the EGPNA ICS Service Desk to analyze & report Plant-facing issues such as incidents, requests, availability, and compliance and perform detailed problem analysis on critical incidents to prevent reoccurring issues and improve resolution time; * Measure KPIs to evaluate the performance of the Plant-facing systems; * Perform detailed problem analysis on critical incidents to prevent reoccurring issues and improve resolution time. * Take part to system improvements and new projects: develop scope of work, review design and proposal with suppliers, selection of suppliers, implementation, testing, commissioning, and finally the transition to Control Room Operators. * Work in close coordination with the Remote Control Generation support team managing the supporting ICS infrastructure (networking, hardware, OS, cyber security, patching, etc.). * Supervise EGPNA contractors and suppliers to maintain efficient coordination, level of support, compliance and quality of services to EGPNA; * Define and improve internal procedures to manage the systems maintenance within the company guidelines and compliance framework. * Work with the Operations team to address the business needs and provide appropriate technical solutions. * Provide 24/7 on-call support as first or second level of escalation for critical incidents. * Comply and support enforcement of compliance program (EGPNA standard procedures, NERC CIP (706) Cyber standards, NERC (693) Reliability standards, etc.) Who You Are: * Experience in integration/maintenance of large-scale SCADA systems, automation, PLC for the power/utility industry * Knowledge of power plant and electrical systems maintenance and operations will be highly regarded. * Knowledge of Wind Turbine SCADA (GE, VESTAS, GAMESA, etc.) and renewable energy systems will be highly regarded. * Rigorous approach to problem solving, troubleshooting, documentation, compliance aspects. * Teamwork oriented but also capable to work in autonomy. * Advanced proficiency in industrial communications: Modbus, IEC104, DNP3, OPC, OSI PI, etc. * Advanced proficiency in IT communications and systems: SFTP, SSH, Database administration, SQL, data mining, MS Windows server, Linux, etc. * Advanced networking skills, Proficient with network analysis and packet analysis tools (e.g Wireshark, etc.) * Ability to be on call and work off hours as needed. * Ability to produce and review technical (e.g. troubleshooting guide, incident report) and non-technical documentation (e.g. contractual documents). * Proficient in: Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, use of Excel Macro, PowerPoint. * Valid Driver's License. * Travelling up to 5% of the time. Key Responsibilities: * You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting engineering standards for substation/transmission/distribution engineering standards. The position provides technical support to engineering, construction, and field services teams, ensuring designs meet project schedules and quality standards. * Lead the development of equipment specifications, design guidelines, and construction standards for voltages ranging from 12 kV to 345 kV for the assigned topic of responsibility in substation (or) transmission (or) distribution engineering. Technical responsibilities will be assigned based on the candidate's experience, skills, or department needs. Major topics include overhead distribution, underground distribution, transmission line design, substation equipment, protection and control, etc. * Perform site visits, troubleshoot equipment failures and safety incidents, and provide solutions through updated standards. * Align current work practices and design standards in AES Ohio and AES Indiana. Work with teams across different departments to understand their needs, solve problems, and develop effective solutions-always considering cost, schedule, ease of construction, and long-term operations and maintenance. * Develop, review, and update construction standard drawings by working closely with a drafting team. Skills and Qualifications: * Minimum Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program. A Master of Science in Engineering is a plus. * For Senior Engineer-Minimum three (3) years of practical employment experience in design (or) engineering (or) construction in any of the disciplines-substation (or) transmission (or) distribution. * For Engineer-Minimum one (1) year of practical employment experience in design (or) engineering (or) construction in any of the disciplines-substation (or) transmission (or) distribution. * Recent graduates with coursework in power systems may be considered for entry-level graduate engineer positions. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to research and accurately interpret and apply technical documentation such as manufacturer datasheets and white papers, national standards, including those maintained by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), etc. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
