Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 2091 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. We are looking for both full-time and part-time RVTs. We offer flexible scheduling with shifts 7AM - 7PM or 7PM - 7AM (with overnight differential pay). We are seeking a dedicated and professional Residential Driver/Garbage Collector to join our team as a part time driver. This position may lead to a full-time position as required. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, efficient, and courteous waste removal services to our valued customers and transporting waste removal/recyclables to the Onslow County Landfill.
Key Responsibilities:
Drives a truck/trailer side-loader or a rear-loader to collect waste and take it to post-collection facilities.
Driver will get in and out of the truck at every stop.
Driver will assist helper(s) in loading solid waste into truck hopper.
Utilize helpers while backing up according to Company policy.
Ensures company employees and third-party helpers adhere to Company policies, procedures, safety compliance and quality standards, while on designated route.
Operates mechanical packer to load and compact trash from hopper into the truck/trailer body.
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections; complete and submit a vehicle condition report at the end of the shift.
Courteously interacts with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or respond to requests; Notify supervisor of issues requiring management action.
Clean loose trash off truck and/or ground around truck and container that spills during dumping process to maintain clean customer site and safety along roads and highways.
