I'm passionate about working with local communities to help them define their goals, develop strategies and implement projects for the betterment of the community.At Greater Seattle Partners (GSP) I serve as the Chief Operating Officer overseeing the day-to-day operations of the newly formed regional economic development organization. GSP is a data-driven economic development organization created to ensure economic growth in the region is sustainable, inclusive and globally competitive.In Bellevue, I served as the Cultural and Economic Vitality Director, focused on supporting the city’s creative and knowledge economy. Through the Innovation Triangle, we partnered to attract new and support existing technology companies, and our Startup425 program, our office and Eastside partners provides startup and entrepreneurial support services. In addition, I oversaw the development of Creative Edge, a strategy to support Bellevue's creative economy and attract and retain talent in Bellevue.Prior to the City of Bellevue, I served as Assistant Director for Economic Development at the City of San Antonio where I oversaw economic development programs focused on business attraction and business retention and expansion. I directed the development of San Antonio’s global trade and investment plan as part of the Brookings Institution’s Global Cities Initiative. In San Antonio I also served in the Office of Military Affairs, established the Fort Sam Houston Community Development Office, and served in the International Affairs Department. I have extensive experience working in international development. I served as a Program Officer with the Stanley Foundation where I founded the Euro-Atlantic Initiatives program to bring economic development, peace and reconciliation to the former Yugoslavia. In addition, I supported the development of political and economic strategies focused on Eastern Europe at the Atlantic Council of the United States, was a scholar at the East European Studies program of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and a Fellow at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels.
