You'll gain hands-on experience in both the field and office under the mentorship of licensed professionals. The ideal candidate has (or is actively pursuing) their Iowa Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) certification and is eager to grow into a licensed Professional Land Surveyor. While fieldwork will be part of the role, the primary focus will be on property research, survey data processing, deliverable preparation, and providing technical support to survey and design projects. Responsibilities In this position, you'll gain experience across a variety of survey services, including: Process Field Data - Download and review field data, add callouts, review utility records, create terrain files, and prepare files for design teams. Property Research & Boundary Work - Examine deeds, plats, and records for use in boundary and Right-of-way calculations. Draft plats and legal descriptions for right-of-way and easements acquisition. Conduct Topographic & Utility Surveys - Establish survey control, collect utility locates and existing features, document site conditions and materials, recover property monuments, document utility structure conditions, depths, and materials, and capture site photos. Support QA/QC & Deliverables - Assist with quality control, file management, and preparation of final survey documents. Collaborate with Project Teams - Work with managers, engineers, and survey staff to ensure thoroughness, accuracy and efficiency for project deliverables. Qualifications Required Willing and able to travel nationwide (approximately 50% of time) by air and vehicle (automobile). Relevant experience in commercial/industrial roof design, construction, quality assurance, and/or consulting.
