Principal Accountabilities
Assist in design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment
Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing and maintaining equipment or components
Consult with operators, supervisors, and engineers to plan layout of equipment and to resolve problems in system operation and maintenance
Determine feasibility of using standardized equipment and develop specifications for equipment required to perform additional functions

Perform instrumentation calculation, set up of parameters and limits
Modify industrial electronic devices, circuits, and equipment in order to meet available specifications

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, and repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems before they occur
Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation and for defects such as loose connections and frayed wires
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, and tests
Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems
Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use and to analyze malfunctions
Repair, install and adjust equipment, machines, and defective components, replacing worn parts such as gaskets and seals in watertight electrical equipment
Install coaxial or fiber optic cable for computers and other telecommunications equipment
Maintain inventory of spare parts. Send defective units to the manufacturer or to a specialized repair shop for repair
When breakdowns occur, make necessary repairs as quickly as possible in order to minimize inconvenience
Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment and software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems
Work extended shifts to support the facility which may require coming in early, before normal shift and staying over later than normal shift
Short notice may be given when coming in early or staying over late. May be called in to make repairs on nights, weekends or holidays
Be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
Must follow the National Electric Code; comply with state and Cargill standards
Assist plant with management of outside contracted electrical projects for quality to comply with Cargill specifications
Participates in ongoing skill level improvement training and apply what is learned

NATURE OF WORK
This position is responsible professional law enforcement work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances for the City of Fremont.
Work also involves responsibility for the protection of life and property, prevention of crime, apprehension of criminals, and the enforcement of laws and ordinances on an assigned shift. Work involves an element of personal danger, and officers must be able to act without direct supervision. An employee in this classification is expected to exercise independent judgement within the parameters of the departmental policies, procedures and regulations while meeting both routine and complex emergency situations. In accordance with established operating procedures, work assignments, and instructions are received in general terms from a superior officer who reviews work methods and results through reports, observations, discussions, and semi-annual performance evaluation. Supervision is received from an administrative superior.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following examples of work are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:
* Patrols a designated area of the City in a patrol car; prevents and discovers commission of crime, apprehends criminals and offenders; enforces vehicle and traffic laws; makes police presence known in a manner that contributes to deterrence of law violations.
* Answers calls and radio complaints involving automobile accidents, misdemeanors, and felonies; conducts accident investigations and criminal investigations at the scenes of crimes; may administer first-aid to persons; gathers evidence, locates, and questions witnesses; interrogates suspects; writes citations and makes arrests as required by circumstances; testifies as a witness in court proceedings.
* Establishes traffic control and police protection at incidents which may attract crowds; performs police duties at parades and processions; checks and reports on deficient street lights, signs, road surfaces, and other facilities which may serve the public.
* Checks doors and windows and examines premises of unoccupied buildings or residences in order to detect any suspicious conditions; gives information and provides assistance to motorists and the public.
* Conducts follow-up investigations of misdemeanors and some felonies; collects evidence and interviews witnesses, victims, and suspects; may conduct death investigations; responds to dog-at-large calls.
* Administers roadside sobriety tests, arrests intoxicated drivers and completes chemical analysis requests in Driving Under the Influence cases.
* Determines probable cause to arrest or search; prepares affidavits and serves authorized warrants; appears in court to present evidence and testify against persons accused of crimes.
* On an assigned basis serves as a property and evidence officer; receives, stores, and disposes of property and evidence and maintains the chain of evidence; maintains records of property and evidence.
* On an assigned basis, serves as a firearms instructor; sets up range, checks officers' weapons, & instructs them in firing techniques.
* On an assigned basis, serves as a community services/crime prevention officer; develops and presents public programs on crime prevention; oversees the Neighborhood Watch Programs; conducts tours of police facilities.
* While performing all duties wears the complete Police uniform including body armor, duty weapon with magazines, radio, handcuffs, Taser and other associated equipment according to assignments.
* Performs duties under a variety of physical and hazardous conditions; with potential exposure to dangerous obstacles and conditions.
* Conducts crime scene investigations which may include preliminary investigations, gather and maintain chain of custody of evidence, interview witnesses and prepare reports; makes arrests when warranted and prepares for testimony.
* Confront and pursue suspects who may be violent, combative or uncooperative and take them into custody.
* Conduct traffic related assignments, monitors traffic conditions, enforces traffic ordinances and laws; directs traffic; issues citations;
* Investigates traffic incidents; provide first aid on the injured parties; conduct interviews of those involved and witnesses; provide documentation of the scene and all relevant circumstances.
* Perform in custody transports of prisoners, to and from court appearances. Conduct interviews and interrogations of in custody male, female and juveniles.
* Performs duties related to animal control complaints and associated animal issues.
* Performs other work which is consistent with the essential functions of the job.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is in a general shop and sometimes outside, and it has access to all welfare facilities. In some cases, the temperature can be warmer or colder depending on the season. Most of the hazards come from machines but following proper procedures should minimize risk. This position will be exposed to the elements and will have to prepare themselves with the right equipment to ensure safety.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

NATURE OF WORK

Assembly & Test Technician
Fremont, NE
Perform diversified assembly and test operations to assemble intricate or large and expensive apparatus, machines or equipment to close tolerances and strict inspection requirements.
Complete skilled fitting of parts, sub-assemblies, and related units.
Complete aligning, adjusting and required secondary machining.
Work from complicated assembly drawings and specifications.
Complete prescribed functional and dimensional checks.
Set-up and operate without assistance test stand equipment.
Produce quality assemblies and attain a working knowledge of possible defects or malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
Maintain or exceed the approved rate of production.
Maintain acceptable attendance record, acceptable overall work record, and purchase the required tools for the classification.
Train lower labor grade operators and operators with lesser experience as necessary.
Report defective materials or questionable conditions per established processes.
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Perform light preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties for areas and equipment in assigned work center.
Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
Perform other related duties as deemed necessary by the Supervision or Management.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to perform effectively, and without assistance, a variety of production duties including test stand set-up and changeover, build sub-assemblies, build pumps, rotary actuators, and testing of product line in classification.
Perform troubleshooting and repair of units in product lines in classification.
Ability to work independently, exhibit the ability to solve problems without assistance and demonstrate effective communication skills both verbal and written.
Capable of reading and interpreting all assembly drawings, assembly processes, bills of material and test specifications in the complexity required for the classification.
Must have proven mechanical, clerical, and mathematical abilities necessary for safe test stand operation and accurate recording of test data.

Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot quality, product, or production issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
Requires a high degree of skill and assembling technique.
Experience and knowledge of basic design and mechanical principles, testing procedures, basic hydraulics.
High School Diploma or GED, with above average mechanical ability.
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow processes, procedures, and policies.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with coworkers, supervision, and management.
