General Description of the Internship Program:
Interns will:
Immerse themselves in a chosen marketing function, guided by an experienced mentor
Gain exposure to all marketing departments and broader company operations
Participate in community service, team-building, and corporate events
Develop assets for real campaigns and report on performance metrics
Complete a group capstone assignment, with the other marketing interns, that includes a strategic marketing plan, including goals, tactics, and communications. They will also provide actual deliverables of creative work.
The following is an illustrative outline of the Internship Program and is subject to change.
Week 1: Interns will quickly get familiar with FCH Enterprises and the Marketing Division, then complete routine tasks in their chosen area-such as posting on socialmedia, analyzing marketing data, or updating online menus-to gain hands-on experience across key marketing functions.
Week 2: Interns will focus on their chosen marketing area, learning its strategies, tactics, and analytics. They'll complete practical tasks, begin their capstone project discussions with mentors, and tour operations to understand commissary and store functions.
Week 3: Mentors and interns will deepen their focus in a marketing specialty, demonstrate their understanding through campaign analysis or forecasting, learn about other Marketing Division areas, and agree on capstone project goals and presentation timing.
Weeks 4 - 5: After fully immersing themselves in the marketing area, the intern will then be tasked to learn more about other departments within FCH, including store operations, training, commissary operations, supply chain, human resources, finance and more.
Week 6 - 10: After learning about marketing and its connection to other departments, interns will focus on their capstone assignment and continue hands-on learning in their marketing area. They will complete and present their capstone to Marketing Division managers and Executive Management.
Throughout the program timeframe: The intern will participate in community service activities alongside other Zippy's team members, Marketing Division social activities, and any corporate events that may occur in the timeframe. Interns will be expected to contribute as an integral part of the team!
The Role of the Mentor in the Intern's Duties:
The Mentor will ensure that the intern has a firm grasp of the various Marketing functions, while navigating them through the other parts of the company to ensure a holistic understanding of how marketing campaigns work. The Mentor will review and monitor the progress of the Intern's capstone project, and provide feedback and coaching to ensure accuracy, clarity and the presentation style are correct. The Mentor will also act as a sounding board for ideas, a one-stop source for questions, and a coach to ensure success in their final project. The Mentor will also navigate the intern towards areas of stated interest, whether within the Marketing Division or elsewhere.
Remote Participation Ability
The Intern will get the best experience working for Zippy's by being onsite. Interns must complete at least 50% of their time onsite in Zippy's offices. Therefore, while remote participation for this internship may be considered, those interns that can devote more in-person time will be given greater consideration.
