Description
As a member of Apple's commercial litigation team, you will not be merely monitoring outside counsel. Rather, you will personally be formulating and driving strategy as well as working with a number of cross-functional teams and stakeholders across all product areas. The position requires a high degree of self-sufficiency, independent judgment, and a trial-focused approach. Travel is anticipated. You will operate as part of a supportive and fun team of lawyers, legal specialists, and support staff who work closely together to protect Apple's interests.
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of major law firm and/or in-house litigation experience, including experience with competition-related litigation, subpoenas, and other investigations.
JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong technology interest and aptitude.
Trial experience and experience beyond competition related litigation.
Excellent communication, analytical, organization, and negotiation skills are essential.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $180,300 and $271,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Overview of the Role
The Social Services Coordinator provides Information and Referral, Individual Socialization, and Counseling Services to residents aged 60 and above living in Wards 5 and 6 of the District of Columbia. The goal is to provide older adults and their family caregivers with supportive counseling and information on resources to help maintain and improve the older adults' quality of life. Services will be provided via phone, video chat, webinar, and in person at Ward 5 and 6 dining sites, Home First Residences and the lead agency office. This can be done through home visits for homebound seniors who are unable to meet virtually or speak on the phone. This is a community and office-based position with travel to Ward 5 and 6 dining sites, Home First Residences as well as an occasional home visits.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
Provide information on resources available in the community, including information relating to assistive technology.
Facilitate referrals to senior services programs, including case management and adult protective services through the Department of Aging and Community Living (DACL).
Provide support, resources, and guidance to older adults.
Visit community dining sites within Ward 5 and 6 at least twice weekly to provide outreach and informational sessions on community resources. Offer telephone reassurance and meet with seniors at Ward 5 and 6 dining sites to reduce isolation and foster increased socialization.
Justification should be submitted bi-weekly to the Finance and Data Administration Manager, and the associated notes should be entered into Cstars weekly.
The monthly goals include Counseling, Outreach, Information, Referral, and Assistance, as well as Individual Socialization service units.
Attend community events as requested by the Director.
Establish in-office hours for appointments and walk-in visits one day a week.
Works with the Home First Program Administrator to provide social service support to Home First Residents.
On-site at Home First Residences once a week to provide support to residence and Home First administrative staff.
Crisis, Intervention, Resolution, and/or Prevention
Home Visits to meet with the resident, assess needs, monitor, and coordinate services.
Assistance with the identification of, or transition into, a new living arrangement, assisted living community, or healthcare facility.
Refer and work with the DACL case management team to provide services as needed.
Assistance with application for benefits.
Assist with one on-call weekend a month.
Attend monthly house meetings and provide input for advisory council meetings.
Attend new resident interview and assist with admission process.
Key Qualifications
Professional with at least two years of experience in the social services arena working with the aging population.
Must possess appropriate training, education, or licensure in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
A skilled interviewer who can ask questions and effectively use interview skills to elicit needed information from clients.
Must be a skillful listener who understands the meaning of the client's statements.
Ability to engage older adults in conversation and provide emotional support/counseling.
Good attention to detail, documentation skills, and use of technology to enter service data.
Knowledgeable of the Older Americans Act of 1965 and local resources.
Must have access to an automobile five days a week for field visits.
Mental health experience is a plus.

This professional will serve as a liaison between the program, school personnel, and families and outside resources. They will be responsible for providing intensive counseling to students who are placed in the school programs for students with significant social, emotional and behavioral challenges, assisting them with academic learning by providing strategic services that identify and address the social-emotional environmental issues that interfere with the educational process. Working with the parents/guardians, teachers, school principal (or appointed designee), and community based resources, this individual implements strategies that promotes students' positive school adjustment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides social work case management services in order to assist school staff and families.
Makes appropriate referrals to resources/services to facilitate educational, mental health, and behavioral needs of students.
Assists families in obtaining needed resources.
Determines the need for and work with staff to develop and provide parent workshops as needed.
Collaborates with program staff and other school system personnel in implementing strategies to promote student learning and/or ameliorate interfering behaviors.
Participates, as an active member of the IEP team, in making IEP decisions, assisting in developing and monitoring social skills, and behavioral and academic goals.
Conducts home and agency visits related to establishing and maintaining communication and positive connections between school settings and all others involved in student lives around identified issues.
Problem solves and identifies prevention and intervention strategies for student success.
Demonstrates and provide on-site crisis intervention response, interventions and follow-up, as needed.
Provides individual and/or group counseling to students, especially addressing those behaviors/areas of need that led to their placement in this program.
Determines and implement appropriate strategies to effect changes in behavioral/social interactions.
Provides classroom observations. Provides staff consultation on behavioral-emotional-environmental factors that impact student learning.
Demonstrates crisis intervention and behavioral techniques to staff and parents; work with other agencies to access services.
Conducts classroom meetings, psycho-educational social skills groups and classroom presentations on identified areas of concern for the students.
Maintains required records and submit appropriate documentation for reports.
Completes risk assessments and be familiar with the process, and have the ability to conduct emergency evaluation petitions (EEP) for students as needed.
Assists in monitoring the progress of students as they return to inclusive environments within the general education setting.
Attends meetings and professional development activities as required.
Maintains professional boundaries, code of ethics, and confidentiality as well as other duties as assigned.
Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIRED
Excellent clinical knowledge and skill in working with students experiencing significant social, emotional and behavioral issues and their families.
Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws, policies and regulations related to special education in general and serious emotional disabilities specifically.
Ability to assist in developing and monitoring individualized education programs (IEPs) that include appropriate social skills, behavioral and academic goals. Be familiar with surface management strategies, as needed.
Excellent human relations, oral and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams and to function effectively in multiple environments.
Master's degree in social work from an accredited college or university.
Must possess one of the following or be eligible to obtain prior to September 1, 2020 to practice in the District of Columbia:
Licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW)
Licensed DC psychologist
Licensed DC Professional Counselor
Experience in a setting working with students with emotional/behavioral needs.
Experience and training which demonstrates successful use of clinical skills in working with such students and/or their families, other programs, and agencies.
