This position has the primary responsibility of providing the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to children of all ages of military service members and their families at military installations to include civilian expeditionary work force and their families (when activated). These services may include non-medical counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, personnel at child development centers, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues affecting children and youth. CYB counselors will be assigned to child development centers, youth programs, summer camps, and on demand assignments. The counselors work closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation. * Provides non-medical, short-term, solution focused counseling directly to eligible children and youth of service members at assigned primary and secondary locations. Additional Candidates must be local to installation and be licensed at the independent level as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Therapist (LMFT), Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent independent licensure. Provides the full breadth of MFLC consultation and counseling services to the command structure and military service members and their families at military installations. Responsible for providing MFLC services including non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues with an understanding of the military unit, cultural and mission. Works closely with the Regional Supervisor/Regional Director, installation, and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation. Provides non-medical, short-term, solution focused, walk-around counseling directly to eligible service and family members at assigned primary and secondary locations. Services include assessment, brief counseling and consultation, action planning, referral to resources (assuring linkage as appropriate), and follow-up as indicated. Delivers training and health and wellness presentations, participates in health fairs and other base/installation activities as requested/directed. Enters counselor activity data daily through smart phone, or web application, to assure that reporting is accurate from assigned installation, while maintaining client/service member confidentiality. Consistently visible within the brigade/regiment which allows MFLC services to be accessible. Establishes and maintains working relationships with community resources and provides appropriate linkages for service members and their families. Partners with POC to provide MFLC services in a manner that addresses the needs of the installation. Develops an effective and professional working relationship with the installation POC. Provides MFLC response to critical incidents, surge and on demand events, and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) program manager. Counselor will flex schedule to respond to urgent requests as needed or at the request of the Regional Supervisor/Regional Director. Manages duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol and staffs the cases with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director. Communicates with Regional Supervisors and participates in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations to which the counselor is assigned. Participates in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate. Participates in initiatives, studies, and pilot programs as directed by the customer and/or Magellan. This includes participation in pilot program certification and training processes, completion of activity documentation, integration of pilot activities in non-medical counseling work, and the utilization of applicable technology to complete required activities. A minimum 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience. Demonstrate intermediate-level competencies in technology and software (i.e., Microsoft Suite, Internet navigation, Smartphone/Tablet and application navigation, video-conferencing platform navigation). Requires ability to engage and communicate with military members or children as assigned, in order to accomplish job functions, and to respond quickly to emergent situations in any physical location on a military installation and/or within a school setting, which includes the need to traverse short and/or long distances within the base to both indoor and outdoor locations, to maneuver through rugged, outdoor or uneven locations (e.g., steep inclines, stairs, grass), and work in outdoor weather and other military base conditions. May require travel to locations outside of a military base installation in a variety of physical environments. Due to the nature of working on military installations or related worksites, counselors may need to comply with various site-specific requirements to work at designated locations. Position works with a supervising School Psychologist and is responsible for the identification, place and follow-up of students referred for special and general education assessment at a specific school site. The School Psychologist Intern will also provide consultation to teachers; will provide counseling of special education and general education students under the supervision of the supervising School Psychologist. The position will provide written reports documenting assessment results and observations. Essential Duties 1. Provides whole class mental health/social-emotional lessons. 2. Plan for and provides direct counseling services to special education and general education under the supervision of school psychologist. 3. Administer cognitive, adaptive, social-emotional, visual, motor, auditory and academic testing. 4. Observe and conduct alternative assessments. Completes and interprets assessment results in writing. 5. Participates in IEP and SST meetings, as needed. 6. Conducts initial and triennial evaluations, writes reports, and presents assessment results at IEP meetings. 7. Observe students in a variety of settings. 8.
