POSITION SUMMARY
The Mental Health Professional is a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and provides clinically appropriate services under the clinical direction of the Director of Mental Health. The Mental Health Professional will provide mental health screenings and assessments, clinical watches, treatment groups and individual sessions, as well as other clinically related activities.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide clinical services, including screening, assessment, treatment planning and crisis intervention.
2. Performs individual and group therapeutic counseling.
3. Performs administrative consultations for specialized social services as determined by the specific needs of the institution.
4. Interviews inmates to obtain information concerning medical history, mental health history, or other pertinent information.
5. Observes inmates to detect indications of abnormal behavior.
6. Reviews results of tests, treatment plans and treatment cases with the behavioral health team to evaluate client needs and implement treatment.
7. Coordinates psychiatry services, which includes but is not limited to tracking and triaging patients' requests or staff referrals for psychotropic meds; administrative duties for psychiatry visits; tracking psychiatry services provided including signed consents and obtaining refusals.
8. Plans and administers therapeutic treatment such as counseling, behavior modification and psychosocial education to assist inmates in managing their mental disorders and other interpersonal or environmental problems.
9. Discusses progress toward treatment goals with inmates and ensures that the treatment plan is completed in a timely manner, adhered to as the barometer for treatment and is reflected in the progress notes.
10. Consults with behavioral health team concerning treatment plan and amends plan as described
11. Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects. May direct special projects as requested.
12. Experience working effectively with a multi-disciplinary treatment team, providing clinical supervision, performing consultation and teaching others
13. Provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
14. Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
15. Provides documentation in accordance with unit policies, procedures, and facility policies when recommended and/or indicated.
16. Participates in mandatory as well as elective educational activities as well as orientation of new staff, and inmate orientation.
17. Attends weekly staff meetings and follows all team/unit protocols.
18. Adheres to safety and security policies, and participates in disaster drills.
19. Follows security regulations and policies, with consideration of clinical factors.
20. Completes case management responsibilities as required.
21. Completes chart reviews as required.
22. Engages in internal audit preparation and review process as directed by the Director of Mental Health Services.
23. Appropriately recommends/offers input to multi-disciplinary team for transfers to alternate levels of care, and/or grade changes when requested.
24. Participates in all mental health watches and log entries as directed
JOB REQUIREMENTS

LICENSING: Current Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) or Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP)
CERTIFICATION: Current CPR Certification
EDUCATION: Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.
EXPERIENCE: At least two (2) years prior clinical experience working with forensic clients; have familiarity with relevant research literature, clinical assessments, procedures and methods, have ability to assess treatment goals and write goal-directed, individualized treatment plans; have ability to monitor and document individual behavior patterns and modify treatment plans; and be familiar with diagnostic nomenclature outlined in the most recent Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.

Hourly pay between $27-$30/hour US Programs focuses on providing high quality, essential services that help put-and keep, children into safe and secure homes. The department provides services to over 3,000 children and adults annually through a variety of pre- and post-adoption services. Managed by Eugene, Oregon and branch office staff, these programs and services are carried out in close cooperation with Holt's regional and country programs, partner agencies, child welfare service providers, government child welfare agencies, local and regional officials, funding agencies, and others. The program continuously evaluates opportunities to expand or deepen program services, while maintaining high standards of quality and transparency for child welfare impact.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Holt International finds and supports permanent, loving families for children who are orphaned, abandoned or at serious risk of separation from their family. The Master's Level Social Worker represents Holt in his/her community and ensures successful adjustment of child and family by conducting an assessment of the family, and providing appropriate services throughout the adoption process. The Master's Level Social Worker works cooperatively with families, the Branch Office and the Regional and Social Service Teams in Eugene, Oregon. Note: The Branch Social Worker is primarily a home based position. Depending on where the position is located in proximity to the branch location, the position may be required to have branch office hours. The Branch Social Worker position is required to travel (most often by car) to different locations within the assigned area to complete the essential functions of the position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (to be completed within timeframes outlined by the Branch Director):
* Contributes to public knowledge about Holt and support Holt programs by recruiting adoptive families, conducting informational meetings and phone calls, holding pre-adoption seminars, participating in activities arranged by Holt including picnics or parent groups, representing Holt at adoption meetings, coalitions and organizations, and performing other outreach activities as appropriate.
* Determines a family's ability and capacity to parent an adopted child by conducting pre-home study meetings as requested, reviewing and assessing agency-requested information, evaluating the family's knowledge and perceptions of adoption, teaching adoption education courses, and conducting psycho-social assessments of family members.
* Contributes to the delivery of high quality adoption services by producing adoption home studies and post placement reports and all supplemental materials in compliance with current country, agency, state and USCIS requirements.
* Provides support and case management on all assigned families by maintaining quarterly contact throughout process, communicating information to the family, referring family to appropriate community support systems when necessary and documenting all correspondence in Holt's database. Monitor for expiration dates for background checks and home study as required by State law and ensure families receive forms necessary to update paperwork.
* Prepares family for travel and assist with post placement adjustment by providing face-to-face training on the prediction path including possible reactions and behaviors of the child, identifying resources available to the family while in country and upon their return. Social worker will contact the family within one week of their arrival, conduct home visits as required by State law and country program guidelines, assist in early identification of problematic issues, and follow agency policy and consult with Branch Director and/or Clinical Resource Group if additional intervention is required above and beyond the standard protocol for the state/country, recommending removal of child when appropriate.
* Assures child's physical and emotional well-being and ease family's adjustment at disruption by providing counseling to the child and family and/or arranging for counseling with a clinician outside the agency and maintaining relationships to ensure behaviors and contacts with the child will allow for closure for child and family. Assist child and family with transition of child to new placement.
* Maintains professional knowledge by attending relevant seminars and course work, keeping informed about State regulations, legislation, adoption issues and child-related issues overseas; maintaining license, if required. Participate in Holt Branch Staff meetings as required.
* Contributes to a positive, productive work environment by meeting attendance and punctuality guidelines and pre-arranging time off with appropriate notice; treating all people with dignity and respect; and exhibiting good listening and comprehension skills including giving and welcoming feedback.
* Contributes to team effort by working cooperatively with Branch and Eugene offices, respectfully responding to all communication from Branch and Eugene within one business day. Providing back-up to colleagues as needed and accomplishing results.
INFORMATION PROCESSING:
Ability to organize, set priorities and work independently. Ability to analyze and interpret complex information from multiple sources and work through complex issues with families and children to identify root issues, potential solutions and options for intervention. Looks at information from multiple perspectives and thoroughly weighs strengths and weaknesses of families before making decisions.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
This position requires the application of clinical skills and knowledge in determining the appropriateness of an adoptive placement for a child and whether the placement is in the best interests of the child. Include recruiting families; assessing family functioning; determining capacity to parent; identifying unusual adjustment issues and problematic family dynamics; managing families and children in crisis; providing on-going support and case management to families; completing reports on-time; documenting all contact with family; communicating with families, Branch and Eugene staff; treating families and co-workers with respect; exercise good judgment and problem solve in a creative manner.
INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION:
Ability to express thoughts and feelings and facilitate that expression from others. Ability to establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship, work cooperatively with agency staff, and work well with collateral contacts in the community including returning phone calls and emails in a timely and courteous manner.
IMPACT OF RESULTS:
Promote feelings of good will and public support for Holt by ensuring successful adjustment of child and family, optimizing effectiveness of adoption process, boosting family recruitment and community awareness of adoption and Holt's services in the coverage area.

KNOWLEDGE:
Master's Degree in Social Work or related field, five years experience in a social service setting, and state license (where applicable). Requires the application of clinical skills and knowledge to determine the appropriateness of an adoptive placement of a child and whether that placement is in the best interests of the child. Must have proven clinical and assessment skills and experience in adoption services and processes. Ability to conduct a psycho-social assessment. Experience providing counseling to individuals, families and/or groups. Knowledge of family and group dynamics and adoption practices. Excellent writing and computer skills. Cross cultural sensitivity. Note: Required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of training every two years on current and emerging adoption practice issues.

Job duties
Under limited supervision, the Certified Master Social Worker position performs Certified Master's level professional social work in determining client needs and provided complex therapeutic services; serves as a member on the interdisciplinary team to participate in treatment planning assigned clients; serves as a liaison to the community as clients' needs warrant, provide psychosocial assessments, individual and group therapy; initiate and implement discharge planning; manage a caseload of approximately 20 patients. Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Master Social Worker : Master's degree in social work and two years of Master Social Worker experience. Recent and soon-to-be graduates and provisionally licensed applicants will be considered.
Master Social Worker: Masters Degree in social work
Legal Requirements: Certification as a Master Social Worker by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is required in accordance with Neb. Rev. Stat. § 38-2128. Certification as a Mental Health Practitioner by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is also required.
Other: valid driver's license. Recent and soon-to-be graduates and provisionally licensed applicants will be considered. Provisionally licensed applicants would start employment as a Master Social Worker at a lesser wage range $27.576-$40.650. Incumbents must obtain the required licensure before starting work in this position. We will consider candidates eligible for the license within three months of application. POSITION SUMMARY:
Holt International finds and supports permanent, loving families for children who are orphaned, abandoned or at serious risk of separation from their family. The master's level social worker represents Holt in their community and ensures successful adjustment of child and family by conducting an assessment of the family, and providing appropriate services throughout the adoption process. The master's level social worker works cooperatively with families, the Branch Office and Adoption Teams headquartered in Eugene, Oregon. Note: The Adoption Social Worker is primarily a home-based position. The Branch Social Worker position is required to travel (most often by car) to different locations within the assigned area to complete the essential functions of the position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (to be completed within timeframes outlined by the Branch Director):
1. Determines a family's ability and capacity to parent an adopted child by conducting pre-home study meetings as requested, reviewing and assessing agency-requested information, evaluating the family's knowledge and perceptions of adoption, teaching adoption education courses as needed, and conducting psycho-social assessments of family members.
2. Contributes to the delivery of high-quality adoption services by producing adoption home studies and post placement reports that comply with provided guidelines and meet current agency, state, country and USCIS requirements.
3. Provides support and case management of all assigned families by maintaining quarterly contacts throughout process, communicating information to the family, referring family to appropriate community support systems when necessary and documenting all correspondence in Holt's database.
4. Prepares family for travel and assists with post placement adjustment by providing training and identifying resources available to help meet the child's needs and aid in the child's adjustment to the family. Conduct home visits as required by state law and country program guidelines, assist in early identification of problematic issues, and make a determination regarding the stability and appropriateness of the placement.
5. Assures child's physical and emotional well-being and eases family's adjustment by providing counseling to the child and family and/or helping arrange for counseling with a clinician outside the agency if needed. In case of an adoption disruption or dissolution, maintain relationship with family to ensure transition plan is developed that meets the child's needs. Assist child and family with transition of child to new placement.
6. Contributes to public knowledge about Holt and supports Holt programs by participating in activities arranged by Holt including picnics or parent groups, representing Holt at adoption meetings, coalitions and organizations, and performing other outreach activities as appropriate.
7. Maintains professional knowledge by attending relevant seminars and course work, keeping informed about State regulations, legislation, adoption issues and child-related issues overseas; maintaining license, if required.
8. Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) employs nearly 2,300 team members operating nine institutions statewide, which house approximately 5,200 inmates. The department's focus includes inmate programming and education, physical and behavioral health care, re-entry services, and community programs, and is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). DUTIES:
Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide discharge planning and reentry assistance primarily to inmates with high needs, and particularly to inmates who have an identified serious mental illness, substance abuse diagnoses, sex offenses and/or inmates with chronic medical conditions. Serve as a liaison with community providers, families and state and federal assistance programs. Provide information/education about resources to other inmates and staff throughout NDCS. Participate on behavioral health interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and create individualized treatment plans. Opportunity to supervise social work interns. Obtain/maintain full certification as a Certified Master Social Worker. Encouraged but not mandatory: obtain/maintain full licensure as a Mental Health Practitioner or Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner. Clinical supervision is provided.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Master Social Worker: Masters degree in social work and two years of Master Social Worker experience.
Master Social Worker: Master's degree in social work.
Legal Requirements: Certification as a Master Social Worker by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is required in accordance with Neb. Rev. Stat. §38-2128.
Other: Proof of licensure and transcripts required upon acceptance of job offer. Unlicensed applicants or recent graduates accepting a job offer must be issued provisional licensure prior to attending pre-service training program. License eligible candidates must be actively pursuing licensure to become fully licensed as a Certified Master Social Worker within a period not to exceed five years from date of hire, by completing 3000 hours of social work experience under the direct supervision of an LICSW or other qualified professional. Must have a valid driver's license. Top candidates subject to security background check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the pre-employment medical exam and a drug test. Once employed, all incumbents must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services pre-service training program.
