IVAAL Solutions, LLC provides support to the Air Force (AF) Family Advocacy Program (FAP) and is responsible for staffing qualified Licensed Clinical SocialWorkers, Licensed Registered Nurses, Certified Victim Advocates, and Program Assistants at U.S. AF Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) across the country. The AF FAP is a Department of Defense, (DoD) funded program whose purpose is to both prevent and respond to intimate partner abuse, child abuse, and problematic sexual behavior with children and youth.
Job Description:
The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) provides AF personnel, their family members, or intimate partners who are victims of intimate partner abuse non-clinical emergent and urgent service whenever requested. With the exception of mandatory state, federal, and military reporting requirements (i.e., domestic violence, child abuse, and duty to warn situations) the DAVA provides a private and confidential service to encourage victims in seeking assistance.
Essential Functions:
Provides 24/7 response to victims alleging abuse (these services are provided based on the needs of client via telephone or in-person).
Establish a Victims Safety Plan on a case-by-case basis. The victims safety is the DAVAs top responsibility and priority. The DAVA will review the Safety Plan during each victim contact.
Conduct initial and ongoing risk assessments. If imminent risk of serious harm or death is established, notify the socialwork supervisor, law enforcement, and Command. If children are involved, the process also includes child physical safety and emotional well-being; refer involved children to the socialworker for follow-on care.
Immediately report any changes in the victims circumstances that changes or impacts the safety plan to the supervisor and/or socialworker or mental health provider in charge.
Advise victims of the military or civil actions available to promote safety (e.g., military order of protection, restraining order, and injunction).
Offer victims information regarding their identified needs (e.g., emergency shelter, housing, childcare, legal services, clinical resources, medical services, transitional compensation).
Accompany clients to appointments or court proceedings when requested by the client.
Assistance with transportation is typically not provided to clients, however, after consultation with the socialwork supervisor and when no other reasonable means exist the DAVA may transport the victim to important appointments (i.e.: medical, court, protective actions). The DAVA cannot transport minor children unless accompanied by the parent or legal guardian and has the appropriate safety restraints in the vehicle.
Establish a contact file for each victim served that contains minimal information about the allegations or nature of the incident. The primary purpose of the DAVA contact file is to maintain victims name and contact information as well as a log of the victim contacts and nature of the contacts or service provided by the DAVA.
Develop process to keep the socialwork supervisor and designated POC (e.g. on-call mental health provider, emergency room.) informed of DAVAs location and timelines when providing DAVA victim services. This process will include location, arrival, and departure notification.
Continually evaluate the quality of the installations coordinated community response and collaborate with base agencies to improve the system response to victims.
Empower victims to be involved in plans or decisions about the safety of self and children.
Collaborate and establish protocols with Security Forces Squadron (SFS), Office of Special Investigations (OSI), and Military Medical Treatment Facilities confirming.
At the discretion of the SocialWork Supervisor, the DAVA may also provide emotional support and information and referral services to the non-offending caregiver in a child maltreatment or youth sexual assault case.
Required Education and Experience/Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of a bachelors degree from an accredited University in any of the following disciplines: SocialWork; Psychology; Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling; Counseling or Behavioral Science; Criminal Justice, or related field.
Must possess 2 years of experience assisting and providing advocacy services to victims of domestic violence/abuse or sexual assault.
Must obtain the Basic Advocate Credential with designation of Comprehensive Intervention Specialist as approved and offered by the National Advocate Credentialing Program, which is overseen by the National Organization for Victims Assistance.
Must pass a criminal history/Security Clearance background check.
Must have transportation and a valid drivers license.
Health Requirements:
All DAVA personnel working within an MTF must maintain current certification in either the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS) (Course C) or the American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/BLS (Heart Saver) Course.
Before starting work, DAVA personnel working with MTFs shall provide proof of immunization from the following diseases according to CDC guidelines: Hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and influenza, and proof of a negative TB skin test (completed within the past 12 months (if positive, proof of negative chest X-ray within the past 12 months) prior to start of work).
Technical Skills:
Must be computer-proficient to work autonomously using Microsoft Office and possess data entry skills needed to create and maintain client files. Specifically, DAVAs must utilize Family Advocacy Program Network computer software to document client visits and safety plans in compliance with AF FAP policies and accepted professional practice guidelines.
Work Environment:
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Travel may be required as needed and is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected and will comply with Joint Travel Regulation (JTR).
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. General hours of work are 7:30am-4:30pm when the AF Clinic is open; however, the DAVA is required to remain on call after normal duty hours if/when a victim of family maltreatment/intimate partner sexual assault is in need of assistance. After normal duty hours, if requested, the DAVA is required to respond telephonically or in-person (with AF SocialWork Leadership permission) to the hospital or law enforcement agency. Hours worked after normal duty hours will be accounted for in the form of "flexing hours" or "overtime" pay in accordance with govt policy and labor laws.

Job DescriptionYoung Center for Immigrant Children's Rights invites applications for the full-time position of SocialWorker to be based in San Antonio, Texas. This position is a unique opportunity for a socialworker to join a passionate team made up of socialworkers, attorneys, and administrative staff, to engage in interdisciplinary written and oral best interests advocacy on behalf of children in immigration removal proceedings. Young Center is appointed as independent Child Advocate for unaccompanied and separated immigrant children and advocates for their best interests with respect to their custody, placement, conditions of release, reunification with caregivers, repatriation, and their immigration proceedings. Young Center does not directly represent children in immigration matters but works closely with the legal service providers who may represent the children's legal interests. Young Center also does not provide direct mental health or therapeutic services to children but gathers information about access to and advocates for trauma-informed and culturally responsive services. The SocialWorker will help recruit, train, and supervise bilingual and bicultural volunteer Child Advocates-teachers, law students, socialworkers, community members-who will work one-on-one with children. Young Center team is a passionate and collegial group of professionals committed to ensuring that children receive the full protection of federal immigration law, domestic child welfare law and international human rights law. This position is funded primarily through a federal contract and is contingent on on-going renewals.
ABOUT THE YOUNG CENTER:
The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights is a national organization dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights and best interests-safety and well-being-of immigrant children in the United States. The Young Center's Child Advocate Program (CAP) serves as the federally-appointed bests interests representative for unaccompanied and separated immigrant children in federal custody. Through CAP's state initiative, we also serve and are appointed by the Superior Courts of New Jersey as independent Child Advocates to children released from federal custody into the New Jersey community. Child Advocates meet with children and learn their stories in order to identify and advocate for their best interests through an interdisciplinary, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive lens. The Young Center's Policy Program fights for wholesale reform of the immigration system while pursuing immediate changes in policy and practice that center children's rights and best interests in all decisions. The Technical Assistance Program, the Young Center's newest program, offers intersectional expertise and critical resources to advocates and service providers working with immigrant children involved in child welfare and other state court systems.
The Young Center has offices in Houston, San Antonio, and Harlingen, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; New York, New York; Washington, D.C.; Phoenix, Arizona; Los Angeles, California; and Grand Rapids, Michigan. We also serve children through our programs in New Jersey.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advocate for children's best interests before government or other interested parties
Supervise volunteers appointed as Child Advocate for unaccompanied and separated children in federal custody in or near San Antonio and across the United States as needed
Serve as Child Advocate to a limited number of cases or as needed
Visit children as needed and communicate with caregivers, family members and stakeholders
Provide internal case consultation and case support on matters involving child welfare, child development, and trauma-informed practices for the San Antonio office
Support the local and national efforts to recruit, train, support, and retain volunteer Child Advocates
Participate in internal and external working groups
Meet regularly with local stakeholders (government field staff, facility staff, immigration judges, ICE officers, and legal service providers); collaborate on presentations to local stakeholders; attend case staffings or other stakeholder meetings; and speak about the Child Advocate Program at local, regional, and national events
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders or organizations in the community
Assist the team in meeting case goals and other deliverables for the government contract and private grants
Capture accurate and timely data management to inform reports to the government, other funders, and internal Young Center departments regarding children served, case outcomes, program metrics, and current trends
Participate in a supportive, collaborative work culture that allows for creative, thoughtful, high-quality, and effective interdisciplinary advocacy
In collaboration with the Managing SocialWorker, consult with attorney colleagues for legal analyses and legal advocacy to identify and advocate for the best interests of unaccompanied and separated children
Under the supervision of the Managing Staff Attorney and with input from the Deputy Program Directors (Attorney and SocialWorker), draft and submit best interests determinations to immigration judges, asylum officers, attorneys, and federal agencies incorporating state, federal, and international law and applying social science research and socialwork best practices, including, but not limited to trauma informed and culturally sensitive approaches
Actively engage with colleagues and supervisors in developing and editing interdisciplinary best interests determinations
Under the supervision of the Managing Attorney or Deputy Program Director (Attorney), accompany children to court hearings and interviews related to their immigration case
Assess which children may need additional supportive and/or mental health services and accompany them to appointments as needed
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Masters of SocialWork
Generally, has prior experience working with children and/or youth, trauma survivors, or migrant/refugees/unaccompanied children to demonstrate an understanding of the population we serve. This may be first-hand experience or demonstrated interest in the field (coursework, internships, volunteer opportunities, etc.)
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, culturally responsive and strengths-based approaches, and child-centered engagement strategies
Effective communication skills, including ability to liaise with various stakeholders, colleagues, and volunteers
Excellent case management skills
High-level organizational skills
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively address case needs

This includes offering consistent, compassionate guidance and trauma-informed coaching to help caregivers build safe, connected, and regulated home environments that meet the emotional and behavioral needs of children who have experienced adversity. Our mission is to empower kinship families through relational support, trauma-informed training, and permanency-focused services that honor family integrity and healing.
Duties
Actively assist in the recruitment of kinship families, with an emphasis on preserving family and cultural connections.
Communicate and collaborate with kinship families to collect and process all required documentation for licensure. Provide relational support to families as they navigate technical requirements, recognizing that kinship caregivers may need additional advocacy and coaching.
Walk alongside kinship families to maintain a strengths-based, culturally responsive approach while tracking their progress, determining eligibility, and ensuring applicants meet verification criteria.
Conduct walkthroughs of the home, checking for health and safety compliance (including fire and evacuation plans), while recognizing the uniqueness of kinship households and approaching variances through a trauma-informed and supportive lens.
Ensure homes meet Minimum Standards for Child Placing Agencies as well as SSCC and DFPS contractual requirements, while offering education, empowerment, and accommodations that promote permanency without unnecessary disruption.
Enter all required data into internal software systems and support families in uploading necessary documentation into their Parent Portal. Provide patient, hands-on assistance, especially for kinship families who may face digital literacy or resource barriers.
Collaborate regularly with DFPS kinship and legal units to request records, share updates, and advocate for timely licensing and support of kinship caregivers. Foster positive relationships with DFPS staff rooted in shared permanency goals.
Offer continued coaching, encouragement, and TBRI-informed strategies to kinship parents throughout and after the verification process. Recognizing kinship caregivers may experience unique stressors and deserve relational, flexible support.
Work closely with Quality Assurance and Case Management teams to ensure each home's file is complete and participate in collaborative discussions that focus on the kinship family's individual strengths and the child/children's needs.
Conduct home study interviews that are individualized and culturally sensitive, evaluating home safety, relational dynamics, and potential risks. Engage all household members, children in care, and references in a way that builds trust and honors lived experiences.
Complete the Kinship Addendum or full home study with a narrative approach that reflects the family's values, trauma history, and readiness to support the child. Ensure each section tells the family's story in a dignified and strengths-focused manner.
Submit completed home studies and compliance files to the kinship auditing team for internal review. Incorporate feedback professionally and accurately, then submit it to the Kinship Support Supervisor for final approval and signature.
Proactively communicate any areas of concern to the Kinship Support Supervisor and appropriate external parties, ensuring child safety and placement stability are prioritized.

DUTIES
Perform the day-to-day operations of the RSI program to meet contract goals and objectives.
Serve as the primary liaison between schools, refugee families, and community organizations.
Conduct home visits for screenings, enrollment, and needs assessments.
Prepare and deliver cultural orientation, parenting education, and other support activities to RSI families, focusing on topics such as the U.S. education system, cultural differences, and effective parenting strategies.
Help ensure refugee families understand and actively participate in parent-teacher conferences and other school-related activities.
Collaborate with school staff and advocates to ensure the needs of families and students are met.
Provide direct client assistance by providing tailored support services to meet individual family needs.
Collect data and generate timely reports to track program outcomes and progress.
Support clients with program outreach work (e.g., providing program information to community partners to facilitate referrals into program).

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in SocialWork or behavioral/human services field or two years of experience providing case management and/or social services preferred.
Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or limited English speakers, is highly preferred.
Fluency in one of the key languages used by client populations is preferred (includes but is not limited to: Spanish, Arabic, Dari, French, Swahili).
Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and database programs.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot, and follow projects through with attention to detail.
Ability to work as a team member and independently, with a high level of self-motivation.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including keen listening ability and relationship building.
