ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain respectful partnerships with parents/families, professionally and regularly, to structure services that encourage trust, ongoing two-way communication, family well-being, ongoing learning and development, and a welcoming program environment that incorporate the unique cultural, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds of families in the program and community.
Abide by the Program Standards of Conduct.
Collaborate with families in a family partnership process that identifies needs, interests, strengths, goals, and services and resources that support family well-being, including family safety, health, and economic stability. Review individual progress; jointly revise goals, evaluate and track whether identified needs and goals are met; help families achieve identified individualized family engagement outcomes and adjust strategies on an ongoing basis.
Implement family engagement strategies that are designed to foster parental confidence and skills in promoting children's learning and development. Offer activities that support parent-child relationships and child development including language, dual language, literacy, and bi-literacy development as appropriate.
Work with program staff to support classroom and center operations as needed; assist in maintaining active supervision requirements; consistently increase knowledge and understanding of the teaching role to provide a higher level of support when needed.
Conduct timely checks with families when a child is absent, to include driving to homes; provide parents with information about the importance of their child's regular attendance and partner with them to promote consistent attendance. Implement strategies to improve individual attendance such as direct contact with parents or intensive case management, as necessary.
Act as a referral coordinator to facilitate access to community services that are responsive to children's and families' needs and family partnership goals; provide ongoing support to assist parents' navigation through health systems to meet the general health and specifically identified needs of their children and assist parents in accessing health insurance for themselves and their families.
Facilitate, coordinate speakers, and/or lead parent classes that promotes Head Start's mission while promoting active parent engagement in the classroom/center.
Provide all services and supports as required by the Head Start Program Performance Standards/Agency.
Actively participate in the recruitment and enrollment of children eligible for the Head Start program, including foster children, homeless children, and children with disabilities, within communities served by the program.This shall include driving to canvas neighborhoods, accepting and reviewing applications, collecting and entering documentation, and interviewing.

Assist Center Manager and classroom staff, including performing the duties of, as needed.
Remain prepared and organized with necessary forms and documentation for this position.

Position Specific Responsibilities
Explains hospice services and Medicare benefits to patients and families; obtains Informed Consent and Election of Benefits documents as requested.

Participates as a member of the IDT, including development and implementation of the plan of care.
Provides psycho-social support and counseling services to the patient and family; supports the involvement of external counseling resources commensurate with patient/family needs and scope of practice.
Assists in identifying the need for intervention of other IDT members.
Effectively communicates patient and family needs to IDT.
Collaborates with IDT to coordinate psycho-social care and support for the patient and family to ensure appropriateness, continuity, and quality of care.
Maintains updated, comprehensive care plans which reflect current problems, goals and interventions for patients.
Maintains respect for the family's environment and belief systems, and remains nondiscriminatory regarding age, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, physical or mental disability, and other personal matters.
Completes initial and ongoing psycho-social assessments for patients; identifies and addresses concerns/issues related to financial means, insurance, living arrangements/placement for long-term care, caregiver stressors, pre-bereavement and anticipatory grief, and community resource needs.
Facilitates placement in long-term care as warranted and monitors adjustment.
Participates in care planning meetings at long-term care facilities.
Supports and facilitates advance planning including living will/POA documents, funeral arrangements, memorial services, and body/organ donation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other field related to social work with one (1) year of social work experience in a healthcare setting required; and licensure if required by state rules. Will require supervisory oversight by MSW for hospice patient care planning and counseling needs.
Master's degree in Social Work with one (1) year of social work experience in a healthcare setting highly preferred; and licensure if required by state rules.

* Greets public, parents, students, vendors, etc. for the purpose of responding to their inquiries and/or directing them to appropriate personnel.
* Maintains alphabetical files for assigned department for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail.
* Performs record keeping and clerical functions for the purpose of supporting assigned department personnel.
Job Requirements: Ability to meet clerical skills required as a student worker:
Skills required include:
* Operating standard office equipment including computer and copy machine.
* Perform standard clerical procedures
* Prepare and maintain accurate records and files
* Ability to work with a diversity of individuals
* Ability to be attentive to detail
* Ability to take direction from staff
Expectations of Student Worker:
* Students should dress appropriately for an office setting. Clothing should be neat, clean, and modest. Shoes must be worn at all times.
* Students should be successful academically and able to maintain a 2.5 grade average. Grades may be monitored at marking period.
* Students should practice good attendance and should track attendance on a time sheet daily.

Qualifications for Psychology Associate:
Master's prepared candidate with active, unrestricted licensure as a Mental Health Professional in Arizona

Valid CPR card
