Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19 and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.
This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent.
Recruitment and Retention Bonus may be available for clinicians newly hired with California Correctional Health Care Services.
Please note: Individuals may be eligible to receive a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend should they meet the eligibility criteria, including but not limited to remaining employed with CCHCS for six months. The Supervising Psychiatric SocialWorker (SPSW) will be supervised by the Chief Psychologist, and will report to the Correctional Health Services Administrator II and the Standards Compliance Coordinator regarding all social work issues pertinent to Title 22 or other licensure requirements. The SPSW will provide direct supervision to psychiatric socialworkers working with mentally or developmentally disabled persons in outpatient and inpatient settings, including evaluations, therapeutic interventions and discharge planning. The SPSW will ensure compliance with MHSDS Departmental and licensure standards in the provision of such services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Clinical SocialWorker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. (Applicants who are in the process of securing their license from the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners will be admitted to the examination, but must secure a valid license before they will be considered eligible for appointment.)

Job Summary
Counsels individuals and groups regarding psychological or emotional problems such as stress, substance abuse, mental or behavioral health issues and/or family situations and develops and implements therapeutic treatment plans, predominantly in our Intensive Outpatient Services unit. Will provide psychotherapeutic services to all patients, to serve as a member of the nterdisciplinary team supporting the organization's treatment programs and philosophy, and will assure the delivery of quality treatment to patients and their families.
