Qualifications

Summary:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Counseling Women and Children - Maintain a counseling load of 15-20 sessions each week. Assist the Director of Counseling and lay counselors as needed in collaborative counseling. Provide advocacy for women and children in conflicted situations. Have a heart for and be proactive in counsel and care for the afflicted and vulnerable.
2. Coordinating Lay Counselors - Assist the Director of Counseling with the administration of the Counseling Ministry Team. Receive and review Personal Data Inventory (PDI) from prospective counselees. Assign new counselees to the appropriate staff or lay counselors. Maintain a running record of counseling cases, including assigned pairings, date started, and date completed.

Administer and interpret tests and measures of psychosocial functioning for the purpose of diagnosing mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive and developmental disorders and disabilities.
Develop and implement appropriate assessment-based treatment plans.
Consult with team managers, statutory and voluntary agencies and patient's relatives to ensure compliance with the patient's treatment plan.
Provide crisis-oriented psychotherapy as well as short-term and long-term psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic treatment.
Document patient therapy in accordance with both federal and state regulations.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Licensed Limited Master Social Worker credentialed from the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners
obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date OR Social Worker specializing in
Clinical Practice credentialed from the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners obtained prior to hire
date or job transfer date.
Education:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
