This position supervises and participates in Victim Advocates work in daily operational activities involved with providing professional crisis intervention services to crime victims and witnesses for the Pima County Attorney's Office.
Essential Functions:
As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Provides crisis intervention services to victims and witnesses;
Provides information and advises victims of their statutory rights and protections within the criminal justice system according to Arizona Victims' Rights Laws;
Interprets, recommends, drafts, and implements policies or procedures related to crime victim advocacy;
Researches, determines and refers appropriate community resources to assist victims and witnesses;
Provides analysis and reporting on related topics and creates periodical reports based on statistical information as appropriate;
Develops and delivers training to volunteers, law enforcement, social service agencies and the public regarding crisis intervention and crime victim issues;
Performs community outreach by attending meetings and seminars to address community organizations and educates the community on the mission and work of the Victim Services Program;
Supervises, trains and evaluates Victim Advocates and volunteers;
Organizes and coordinates special projects, events or trainings;
Maintains appropriate security and confidentiality for information created or encountered in the performance of assigned duties;
Develops and maintains sound working relationships with county attorney staff as well as personnel from law enforcement, medical and social services agencies;
Carries a felony and/or misdemeanor case load;
Participates in staff meetings and ongoing training.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social or behavioral science or a closely-related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND three years of experience as a Victim Advocate.
(One calendar year of experience in the Pima County Victim Witness Volunteer Program encompassing a minimum of 240 volunteer hours, will satisfy one of year experience as a Victim Advocate.)
(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)

Three years with Pima County in a Victim Advocate position.

Graduate of the Pima County Attorney's Office Victim Witness Basic Crisis Training.
Experience working with victims of crime in the criminal justice system.

Establish and write thorough and informative home studies.
Interpret and implement legal responsibilities.
Responsible for direct and indirect assistance and supervision of families, adults, and children in foster care program, including the ability to teach de-escalation techniques, parenting skills and effective discipline techniques.
Coach, advice, and train Resource Parents to provide mental health services to children with extensive behavioral needs.
Create, implement, and update treatment plans based on the needs of the client and the desired outcomes identified by the Child and Family Team.
Monitor and regulate compliance with State rules and La Paloma policy during home visits to family foster homes.
Advocate and support foster families and clients during Child and Family Team meetings to ensure the best outcome for clients served in the program.
Work with Complete Care Contractors to request and review documentation for referrals, to determine best match of member and foster family for successful placement.
Conduct outreach and build relationships with Complete Care Contractors.
Assist in coordination and implementation of quarterly foster parent training.
Assist in coordination and implementation of retention events for foster parents.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is responsible for managing and maintaining the safety and well-being of individuals and staff within the unit, ensuring high standards of care, and support for both adults and youth. This role involves conducting vital signs assessments, assisting individuals with daily needs, and providing exceptional customer service. The specialist will also accurately document services provided and significant interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
* Conducts security screening and inventories property of individuals upon admission to the facility. Provides orientation to the Observation Unit and Short-term Inpatient Unit. Educates patients on their rights under ADHS regulations, grievance process, provides expectations, and explains rules and regulations.
* Intervenes with escalated individuals using therapeutic techniques for de-escalation and performs restraints/seclusions when needed to ensure the individual's safety and the safety of others. Completes 1-to-1 on a patient in seclusion or mechanical restraints Q15.
* Lifts, moves, and transports individuals using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.
* Assists individuals with activities of daily living to include eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
* Conducts and documents individual's vitals and reports all questionable results to the RN/Physician attending the individual. Conducts and documents all BAL, urine drug screens, and urine pregnancy tests.
* Attends court ordered hearings when subpoenaed. Must be willing to be a witness on a petition and available to provide testimony at court ordered hearings.
* Documents all services and significant individual interactions in the Electronic Health Record. Monitors and documents patients Q15.
* Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the cleanliness of the facility and designated assigned unit. Performs light cleaning of interior center, collects soiled linen, and launders individuals clothing when needed.

What You'll Do:
The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) manages and maintains the safety of the individuals and staff. Takes vitals and assists individuals in meeting their needs while on the unit by providing exceptional customer service. Documents services provided and significant interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Conducts security screening and inventories property of individuals upon admission to the facility. Provides orientation to the Observation Unit and Short-term Inpatient Unit. Educates patients on their rights under ADHS regulations, grievance process, provides expectations, and explains rules and regulations.

About the role
The
Resource Specialist
assists with the development of individual success plans for each family, provides referrals to other community services/resources, and serves as a liaison with outside entities to advocate for the needs of the family. The Resource Specialist works with each family to identify a community rental unit and negotiates the lease and payment process with each landlord. The Resource Specialist also works closely with homelessness liaisons from school districts to ensure that federal education regulations regarding children that are homeless are followed.
The successful candidate will be a compassionate service professional, who is deeply motivated by helping families and children achieve sustainability through the attainment of their goals, is adaptable to change and able to work at a faster-than-average pace, and is thorough, structured, and detail-oriented.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Work assignments may vary depending on the department's needs and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by leadership):
Provide direct Resource Specialist services to families in the Family Pathways program including:
Screening of potential participants and orienting new families to the program.
At participant entry, complete intake paperwork, administer housing assessments, create and continuously maintain accurate HMIS/Service Point electronic records for all participants, tracking and ensuring data is entered within 24 hours of each participant-related contact or activity.
Ensure all intakes of participants are entered in Shelterpoint within 1 hour
Establish a file for each participant in programs, ensuring proper documentation at intake as required by Primavera guidelines and outside funding sources.
Create family success plans and meet with participants on a weekly basis, monitoring progress and completing referrals to community partners.
Coaching and guiding families, providing life skills resources, and ensuring follow through on referrals, and advocating for families as appropriate.
Coordinate with Primavera programs and other community permanent housing providers to assist families with stable housing.
Maintain contact with school homelessness liaisons/coordinators, ensuring the needs of the children are met, including transportation
Arrange for short-term motel stays as needed for families in immediate housing crisis.
Provide referrals, information, and guidance to families for housing search.
Negotiate the lease and all related activities with the landlord.
Completing Habitability Standards inspection of units and finalizing follow-ups.
Create the Temporary Occupancy Agreement for the adult participants, which is to include a copy of the lease signed by Primavera and the landlord.
Purchase and ensure delivery of furniture as necessary depending on the needs of the family.
Create individual success plans and meet with each participant at least monthly, monitoring progress and making referrals to ensure participant's success, and adjust as necessary.
Develop, plan and teach job readiness, financial education and housing search skills to program participants.
Ensure participant files and tracking are properly maintained and confidentiality requirements.
Provide resources such as laundry services, household supplies, and other necessities.
Complete periodic home visits and weekly check-ins to ensure a safe living environment for each family.
Conduct post-shelter exit follow-ups and tracking.
Maintain tracking information and statistical data as required internally and by grant funding sources.
Sort, store and distribute donations received for Family Pathways families.
Attend training and meetings as required, including but not limited to Resource Specialists, 1:1, employee meetings, and all employee meetings.
Adherence to and demonstration of Primavera's guiding principles of integrity, respect, accountability, compassion, and leadership.

The Family Advocacy Treatment Manager (FATM)
is a member of the multidisciplinary Family Advocacy Program (FAP) team and provides the following services:
Assess and treat individuals, families, and groups whose maltreatment allegation(s) meet criteria for maltreatment.
Provide voluntary, comprehensive prevention services to prevent the occurrence of family maltreatment.
