    The Water Department Night Service Worker responds to emergency calls to the Water Department, assesses the scene of the emergency and determines the appropriate level of response, including calling out crews to perform repairs. As the Night Service Worker, the employee responds to after hours (including weekends and holidays) emergency calls to the Water Department, working independently to assess emergencies and determine the appropriate level of response. The work is performed under the supervision of the Plumbing Supervisor. The job requires knowledge of methods and techniques of water line installation, maintenance, and repair, operation of power tools and equipment such as dump trucks with trailers, loaders and compactors. The job requires a Class I Drinking Water Distribution Operator Certification.* The job requires the ability to maintain a collaborative and cooperative working relationship with elected and appointed officials, other City employees, other organizations, and the general public. The work environment is a public street environment that may include exposure to adverse weather conditions, trench excavations, traffic hazards, moving vehicles and heavy equipment at the job site, and hazards involving the use of power tools and equipment. The noise level is generally moderate but with occasional exposure to noisy and/or loud equipment. The job is an on-call position, responding to emergency situations. Employees designated as immediate response personnel must live thirty (30) minutes or less from their usual daily work site. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Responds to emergency calls to the Water Department, assesses the scene of the emergency and determines the appropriate level of response, including calling out crews to perform repairs. Completed Certified Family Support Training Complete 20 hours of Supervision upon receipt of Certificate Current Enhanced Background Check Department: Community Work Supervised by: Team Leader/Program Director/Clinical Supervisor Positions supervised: None Location: Client home, designated office space and/or community locations Requirements: Job functions, responsibilities and authority: Advocate for the member and member's family needs.
