Duties/Responsibilities: Carries a clinical caseload, conducts family therapeutic meetings utilizing biological, psychological, and systemic perspectives in understanding patients and their families to develop treatment plans and interventions from those perspectives appropriate to the ages of patients served. Works cohesively with other team members and is a contributor to the team; actively communicating with the Director of Social Work and other Social Workers, as needed. Ensures care provided is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Holds self-accountable to helping the patient and family achieve desired results, understanding and identifying professional strengths, limitations, and challenges. Actively participates in clinical rounds & social work staff meetings/trainings. Facilitates discharge planning and implementation. Conducts group therapy sessions with techniques appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Provides intern and/or staff supervision, as requested by the Director of Social Work or Director of Clinical Operations. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Must have the ability to function optimally in a stressful environment, and the ability to remain calm in emotionally charged situations. Experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Proficient in group work and family systems approaches. Strong experience in comprehensive assessment within a mental health context. Education and Experience: Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required. LMSW/LCSW or LPC-A/LPC in the State of Connecticut required. Experience working with a psychiatric patient population required. Physical Requirements: Ability to move light objects weighing less than 20 pounds for short distances. Ability to sit at a desk and walk around for different periods of time.
