UNHS is hiring a Full-Time (FT) position for a Behavioral Health Sexual Assault Prevention Specialist. Location: To be determined (Montezuma Creek, Blanding, Monument Valley) Full Time Wage depends on experience Key Performance Indicators: Develop and implement comprehensive sexual assault prevention program and initiatives, including presentations, workshops, and training sessions for clients, staff, and community members. Provide direct support and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault, including crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals to community resources. Work with local organizations and agencies to coordinate and improve the response to sexual assault, including the development of protocols and procedures. Collaborate with campus departments to promote a culture of consent, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention. Conduct outreach and education to increase awareness and understanding of sexual assault, including the definition of consent, the impact of trauma, and the importance of bystander intervention. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, policies, and best practices related to sexual assault prevention and response Develop and conduct sexual assault prevention conferences for community members. Conduct sexual assault prevention education classes for community members. Create, plan, and conduct Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities in April (e.g., Teal 5K Walk/Run events in the communities). Knowledge and ability to use various software programs and applications (Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, Google suite, etc.) Key Performance Indicators: Program Attendance and Participation Outreach and Community Engagement Referral and support services provided to survivors Collaboration and partnership development Culture of consent and healthy relationships promoted Training and education provided Awareness and understanding of sexual assault increased among target populations Effectiveness of prevention programs and initiatives demonstrated through data and outcomes. Requirements Program Attendance and Participation: A minimum attendance rate of 75% for sexual assault prevention workshops, presentations, and training sessions. Outreach and Community Engagement: Attending coalition meetings, community meetings, UNHS SART meetings. etc. Providing resources, information, and educational opportunities at community events regarding sexual assault awareness and prevention. Referral and support services provided to survivors: Providing support services and direct victim services for survivors. Providing referrals while assisting survivors to UNHS departments, medical providers, victim services programs, and law enforcement. Collaboration and partnership development: Collaborating and partnering with other UNHS departments, local organizations, and community partners regarding sexual assault awareness and prevention in San Juan County, Utah. Culture of consent and healthy relationships promoted: Providing two conferences that center around sexual assault prevention and education in Indigenous communities. One conference will be for Indigenous men and boys and the other conference will be for Indigenous women and girls. Each year, a total of (2) conferences will be held. Training and education provided: Providing four educational events, each year, held at each site: Montezuma Creek Clinic, Blanding Family Practice, Navajo Mountain Clinic, and Monument Valley Clinic. That makes a total of 16 educational events for the year. Awareness and understanding of sexual assault increased among target populations: Attending coalition meetings such as the San Juan County Boundaries Workgroup, SJCPAC, UNHS SART Team, etc. Effectiveness of prevention programs and initiatives demonstrated through data and outcomes: Providing satisfaction surveys for clients, providing pre-tests and post-tests for participants at conferences, documenting demographic data of direct victim services, documenting participation at events, conferences, and educational events. Reaching a target number of participation at conferences, awareness events, and educational events. Experience, Training, and Qualifications needed to perform the job: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or public health. Knowledge, Skill and Ability: Sexual Assault Counselor Training (preferred) As a Tribal Organization the Utah Navajo Health System, Inc. (UNHS) treats patients with high risk and underlying chronic medical conditions. Therefore, UNHS requires its employees to show proof of immunization prior to their employment with UNHS or during their employment. Below is a list of immunizations/vaccinations required to be employed or to continue employment with UNHS. The immunizations/vaccinations include but not limited to following: MMR (Measles Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella): Documentation of two MMR vaccines (OR) Documentation of MMR titers. Complete Hepatitis B vaccine series (3 doses), documented proof of titers indicating immunity, or a declination that may be signed upon arrival. Proof of up-to-date PPD skin testing, if previously negative (OR) Proof of positive PPD skin test with the most recent chest x-ray and treatment history. Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap). Varicella titers, history of varicella or varicella immunization series. Influenza vaccine for the current year. COVID-19 vaccine Any other vaccinations as requested.
