Overview: The School Social Worker is responsible for helping students to address problems or issues that may get in the way of learning and competence, such as truancy, rebelliousness, social withdrawal, substance abuse, and bullying. The School Social Worker is a member of the school counseling team, performs functions of a support staff member and reports to the school principal. Employment Schedule: 10-months, full-time Duties and Responsibilities: Essential functions of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following: Engage in appropriate assessment activities that result in the identification of the special needs of individual students to include interviews, observations and/or home assessments.
