Softline company history timeline

1993

Softline Holding (the Group) was founded in 1993 by Igor Borovikov.

1997

Following the death of Kurt Brandt in 1997, SOFTLINE started working with a number of new designers.

1998

1998 – the Company becomes the leading software licencing partner.

1998 - First successes.

2000

He began selling software for the new desktop computers that came to Germany from the USA. By 2000, Softline had established itself as a well-known software reseller and as one of the first to offer online and download services.

2001

2001 – Softline opens its first office in Minsk, Belarus.

2002

2002 - Turnover $10.3 million The year of development of regional representative offices - offices were opened in Kiev, Khabarovsk and Nizhny Novgorod.

2003

2003, the Company launches AXOFT, a distribution business to serve clients through partner networks.

2003 - Turnover $17.2 million The company is developing new markets - the start of work of the consulting company Softline Solutions.

2004

2004 – Softline establishes the “Microsoft Solution & Competency Center” to develop its services business.

In 2004, the American investment company JPMorgan Chase acquired Bank One, after which OEP Capital Advisors became the exclusive private investment platform for JPMorgan Chase.

2005

2005 – the Group launches Softline Consulting Services and expands to Kyrgyzstan.

2006

2006 – Softline expands to Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.

Turnover according to the results of 2006 $97.7 million.

2007

2007 – the Group becomes a leader of software licensing, and further expands into Georgia and Mongolia.

2008

2008 – Softline launches in Turkey, Vietnam, Armenia and Turkmenistan.

The first Turkish representative office of the company - in Istanbul - has been operating since 2008.

2009

2009 – Softline launches a “software as-a-service” (SaaS) store and executes its first M&A transaction by acquiring ActiveCloud and Active Platform, a Belarussian cloud provider with a strong market position and key IP for Cloud Service Brokerage.

2009 Revenue - 8.5 billion rubles

2010

2010 – the Group expands to Argentina, Colombia, Romania and Moldova, and launches the Softline Services department.

During the reporting period - 2010 - the company's turnover in the field of information security increased by 64%, reaching 2,163,277 thousand rubles.

Based on these estimates, in fiscal year 2010, the company earned no more than $30 million on IT services, of which only about $2.15 million was spent on cloud services.

2011

2011 – expansion to Malaysia and Peru.

2012

2012 – Softline enters Cambodia, Laos, Costa Rica and Chile, and is being recognized as Microsoft Country Partner of the Year.

2013

Doctor Knut Löschke was elected as the new chairman of the supervisory board on October 23rd, 2013, after Bernhard von Minckwitz had to resign from his office for personal reasons

2013 – expansion to Brazil and Mexico.

Earlier, the company expected that it would reach $1 billion in 2013.

2014

2014 – the Group opens a subsidiary in India.

In 2014, the company returned to these plans and then announced its desire to host within five years.

The company expects that in 2014 this direction will show growth of about 80%.

2015

2015 – Softline expands to Myanmar, and achieves Premier status with Сisco in 9 countries and LSP status with Microsoft in 19 countries in CEE, LATAM and Asia.

Own cloud infrastructure operates in 4 cities of Russia (Moscow - 2 sites, St Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok). In 2015, cloud sites in Kiev and Alma-Ata will be opened .

2016

ISO 37001:2016 is a standard developed by an international standardization organization that establishes requirements for the creation, implementation and functioning of an anti-corruption management system.

The company began to try and test the innovation in the summer of 2016.

03/2016: Softline is awarded for the third time in a row by Flexera Software as "EMEA Partner of the Year" 08/2016: Softline Group opens office in Austria 11/2016: Softline AG with capital reduction and capital increase within the debt-equity swap

2017

In 2017, NicGrade launched the sale of the marketing automation platform of the same name.

2018

2018 – Softline acquires a minority stake in Crayon, a Norwegian IT advisory firm which provides software licensing, software asset management and consulting services.

2019

At the end of April 2019, it became known about joining Alexander Galitsky the board of directors of the Cypriot company Axion Holding Cyprus, which consolidates the assets of the IT holding.

2020

The number of employees of the group worldwide at the beginning of September 2020 is 4700 people.

Aplana announced the transaction on November 2, 2020.

2020 – Softline opens its new HQ in London, UK. The Group successfully places two Public Bonds and improves its S&P credit rating to B-Stable.

As of the end of 2020, it was Crayon's largest shareholder.

2021

On September 21, 2021, Softline announced the purchase of a stake in DigiTech.

So, for example, in the spring of 2021, the BlaBlaCar service gave all its employees, including in the Russian office, shares of the company.
