Key Responsibilities Mainframe Modernization: Design, develop, and implement solutions to migrate mainframe applications to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Cloud Architecture: Develop cloud-based architectures and microservices to replace monolithic mainframe systems. Legacy Code Refactoring: Re-engineer COBOL/Assembler-based systems to cloud-compatible technologies such as Java, .NET, Python, or Node.js. Integration & Testing: Ensure seamless integration between on-premise legacy systems and cloud platforms while maintaining data integrity, security, and compliance. Automation & Optimization: Leverage CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools for continuous integration, automated testing, and efficient deployment on cloud infrastructure. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, cloud architects, and security engineers to align technical solutions with business goals. Qualifications & Skills 5+ years of experience with mainframe systems (COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, DB2). Proven expertise in migrating mainframe applications to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Proficient in cloud-native services and frameworks (Kubernetes, Docker, microservices architecture). Strong understanding of modern programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or Go. Experience with DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible). Solid understanding of databases (DB2, IMS, and cloud databases like AWS RDS, Azure SQL). Knowledge of security best practices in cloud migration (IAM, encryption, data privacy). Agile/Scrum project management experience. Preferred Qualifications Certifications in cloud technologies (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional, etc.). Experience with API development and integration of mainframe systems with cloud platforms. Familiarity with mainframe migration tools such as Micro Focus or Blu Age.
