Software Engineering Manager
Sift Stack, Inc.
Remote job
At Sift, we're redefining how modern machines are built, tested, and operated. Our platform gives engineers real-time observability over high-frequency telemetry-eliminating bottlenecks and enabling faster, more reliable development.
Sift was born from our work at SpaceX on Dragon, Falcon, Starlink, and Starship-where scaling telemetry, debugging flight systems, and ensuring mission reliability demanded new infrastructure. Founded by a team from SpaceX, Google, and Palantir, Sift is built for mission‑critical systems where precision and scalability are non‑negotiable.
About the Role
Sift is hiring a hands‑on engineering manager to lead and scale our engineering team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in driving the technical execution of our product roadmap while ensuring our engineering practices are solid and scalable. You'll work closely with our engineers and product team to solve complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions to customers building satellite constellations, renewable energy, and autonomous transportation. You will also have the unique opportunity to develop and refine our engineering processes from the ground up.
We're looking for an Engineering Manager who thrives in dynamic, high‑growth environments and is passionate about building exceptional teams and products. This is a rare opportunity to shape an early‑stage company's success by driving engineering excellence. You will report to our Co‑Founder and CTO and play a critical role in aligning the team's efforts with Sift's long‑term technical vision.
In This Role, You'll:
Lead a team of engineers, accelerate their growth by providing thoughtful feedback and technical mentorship, and effectively manage their performance.
Collaborate with go‑to‑market, product, and engineering to build and champion a long‑term technical roadmap that reduces the operational burden, ensures scalability, and mitigates risk.
Work closely with customers, including hardware engineers, to understand their problems and find efficient solutions.
Drive execution, ensuring high‑quality projects are delivered on time and aligned with company goals.
Establish and refine engineering processes, including code reviews, sprint planning, and post‑mortems, that increase velocity, maintain product quality, and ensure high technical standards.
Track and report key engineering metrics (e.g., error rates, shipping velocity) to ensure continuous improvement and efficient execution.
Contribute to the codebase, working on high‑impact features and helping solve critical technical challenges.
The Skillset You'll Bring:
7+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably B2B SaaS, with at least 2 years of experience leading engineering efforts from analyzing requirements to scoping, shipping, and operating in production.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or STEM discipline.
Strong experience designing and building large‑scale, distributed systems or web applications using Go, Python, or an equivalent language.
Deep systems background and value technical excellence. You deliver well‑engineered and durable solutions, leading technical discussions, design, and code reviews.
A demonstrated track record of successful mentorship and accelerating reports growth, being an effective multiplier for the team.
Proven ability to balance hands‑on development with team management.
Bonus Points:
Experience working with in‑stream data processing and analytics using Apache Kafka, Flink, Beam, or similar
Experience with relational and non‑relational databases, e.g. PostgreSQL, Druid, Pinot, Timescale, or similar
Experience with data exploration tools like Grafana, Jupyter Notebooks, Metabase, PowerBI, or similar
Strong understanding of DevOps principles; version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment and monitoring
Engineering At Sift:
You'll have the opportunity to help evolve and scale our platform because we're still in the early stages of building the product. Relevant technologies include:
Web frontend & backend: React, TypeScript, Redux, Tailwind, WebAssembly, D3.js, WebGL, and Go
Data: Parquet, Flink, Kafka, Redpanda, Beam, DuckDB, Timescale, QuestDB, InfluxDB, and Druid
Infrastructure: GitHub Actions, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
Location:
Sift's headquarters is in El Segundo, CA. We collaborate in person twice a week-on Mondays and Thursdays-and come together for a full week every two months. While we prefer team members to be local, we're open to relocating candidates to LA or considering remote work from the San Francisco area for the right candidate.
Salary range: $170,000 - $250,000 per year. Plus equity and benefits.
Eligibility:
U.S. Person Required: Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual such as an asylee or refugee in compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) / EAR (Export Administration Regulations) regulations.

VP of Engineering
Synonym Inc.
Remote job
About Us
We're building Roebling, an AI-native industrial planning platform aimed at enabling the rapid development of the industrial infrastructure required to power and manufacture cutting edge technologies. Today, innovators face an outdated reality: getting to construction on projects big and small requires thousands of hours of repetitive, PDF- and spreadsheet-driven workflows with heavy QA/QC overhead. It's inefficient, slow, and largely unchanged for more than a century. Over the past 18 months, we've built an MVP to demonstrate how reducing planning timelines by 10x helps companies bring new products to market faster.
We're not building another OpenAI wrapper - the foundation of Roebling's backend is a no-code project simulation engine that combines aspects of chemical engineering, finance, and operations with AI-enabled workflows to inform infrastructure investment decisions for industrial projects with construction budgets from $10s to $100s of millions. If you're motivated by using software and AI to unlock physical infrastructure, we'd love to chat!
Role Description - VP of Engineering
As our VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading engineering execution, establishing technical excellence, and scaling the team as we evolve from MVP to a robust, production-ready platform. You'll collaborate closely with our CEO, CTO, and senior technical leaders to define architecture, drive delivery, and shape our product roadmap.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives when taking ideas from 0 to 1, enjoys guiding engineering strategy while still diving into the codebase when needed, and has experience building scalable systems and high-performing teams in early-stage startups.
Example projects you might work on:
Defining the long-term architecture of Roebling's simulation platform, including decisions around compute infrastructure, caching strategies, multitenancy, and scalability as customer project sizes grow
Architect our AI-assisted workflow system, including prompt strategy, model evaluation pipelines, fine-tuning, agentic workflows, and integration with deterministic engineering logic
Set engineering-wide practices for reliability, observability, and performance (CI/CD, automated regression suites, simulation benchmarking, runtime monitoring, etc.)
Competencies
Must-have
Strong proficiency in Python and Typescript/React
Experience architecting and scaling compute-heavy systems
Demonstrated experience shipping products in an early-stage startup environment
Ability to lead teams through ambiguity and make high-quality technical decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of ownership and a bias toward action
Authorization to work in the United States
Nice-to-have
Familiarity with other science and engineering disciplines (e.g., biology, physics, chemistry)
Experience in the specific frameworks we use: React, Next.js, Redux, TailwindCSS (frontend); FastAPI, Postgres, Supabase (backend)
Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
Other
While fully-remote, our team highly values in-person collaboration. We have a preference for candidates near our existing team (NYC, SF/Bay Area, Boston) who are open to hybrid work.
Compensation
Salary range: $180-250k, based on experience
Our team aspires to hire great people and create an environment where we can be happy, feel challenged, and do our best work. It's an exciting time to join Synonym and build that environment from the ground up!
Benefits Include
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
Daily lunch allowance
Beautiful office in SoHo (NYC), or coworking space (Boston, SF Bay Area)
Competitive compensation packages, including equity

Homevision Inc.
Remote job
Staff Software Engineer
Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000 + Meaningful Equity
About HomeVision
HomeVision is building the next generation of AI-powered software for the $13 trillion mortgage industry. Our platform, MIRA (Machine Intelligence Review Assistant), automates labor-intensive document processing and underwriting, helping lenders close loans faster and with less friction - ultimately saving borrowers time, money, and stress. We have already transformed appraisal operations for the country's top lenders, cutting review times by over 75%. Now, we are aggressively expanding MIRA to cover the entire loan file - automating income, assets, and credit analysis - to create a holistic underwriting utility for the industry.
At HomeVision, we like working with hungry, smart, curious and kind people who enjoy hard problems and real responsibility. Engineers here own meaningful projects end to end, from design to deployment, and collaborate closely with product, design and our go-to-market teams. We value low ego, high ownership, clear communication, and respect for each other's time. We always try to “do the loving thing” in how we work together and with our customers and partners.
About the Role
We are looking for a full-stack Staff Software Engineer to join our core product team in San Francisco. You will work directly with our founders, designers, and ML engineers to build the interfaces and infrastructure that power MIRA. This is not a "maintain the legacy code" role; you will be architecting new features that allow complex AI decisions to be understood and acted upon by real humans.
What You Will Do
Ship Product End-to-End: You will own features from database schema to UI components. You'll build the interfaces that underwriters use to interact with our AI, making complex data intuitive and actionable.
Architect for Scale: Design and implement robust solutions that handle complex loan file data, ensuring high availability and low latency as we scale to millions of documents.
Bridge the AI Gap: Work closely with our ML team to integrate AI services into our core SaaS platform, ensuring seamless handoffs between our decisioning models and the user application.
Elevate Engineering Culture: Drive continuous improvement by championing effective development practices and the adoption of new AI-powered tools to increase our velocity and improve the stability of our production environment.
What You Will Bring Technical expertise
Production Experience: 4+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping high-quality code in a production environment.
Backend Fluency: Strong experience with Go (preferred), Java, C++, or similar strongly typed languages. You understand concurrency, data modeling, and distributed systems.
Frontend Competence: Proficiency with React, TypeScript, or similar modern JS frameworks. You don't need to be a designer, but you should be comfortable building and debugging complex UIs.
Cloud Native Mindset: Experience building on AWS (Lambda, SQS, S3) and familiarity with containerization (Docker).
Ownership: You have experience (or a strong desire) to lead projects. You don't just write code; you take responsibility for the outcome.
Bonus Points
Experience with Python in a data/ML context (pandas, numpy, etc.).
Background in Fintech, Mortgage Tech, or complex workflow automation.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Pulumi) or DevOps practices.
Soft Skills
Strong empathy for users and a habit of thinking through edge cases.
A product mindset, focusing on how features solve real customer problems.
Clear communication and a collaborative approach to working with teammates.
Willingness to ask questions, share progress early and learn from feedback.
Sense of ownership over the quality and reliability of your work.
Location and eligibility
Based in, or willing to relocate to, the San Francisco Bay Area.
Able to work in our San Francisco office 2 to 3 days per week.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary and meaningful equity package.
Salary range: $160,000-200,000, depending on experience and talent level.
Medical, dental and vision coverage.
401(k) plan with company match.

Staff Software Engineer, Growth
Gamma.App
Remote job
We're building the creative layer for modern communication. Every month, over a billion people make presentations - but the tools they use to make them haven't evolved in decades. We're changing that, using AI to disrupt a massive market.
📈 Millions of people rely on Gamma to create, teach, and persuade, creating more than 1 million gammas every day.
💻 We see Gamma as the next great workplace tool, combining viral B2C love with a massive B2B opportunity. We believe AI can be a true creative partner: one that understands context, clarity, and taste.
💸 We've reached a $2.1B valuation, crossed $100M in annual recurring revenue, and have been profitable since 2023.
💙 We're an imaginative, passionate team who takes our work seriously, but not ourselves. Our culture is warm, a little quirky, and fueled by curiosity.
About the role
You'll own end‑to‑end growth strategy and execution as we scale Gamma to hundreds of millions of users. This means driving key business metrics like sign‑ups, activation rates, conversion, retention, and revenue while designing the infrastructure that enables rapid experimentation at scale. You'll architect complex monetization features including multi‑tier pricing, usage‑based billing, payment flows, and subscription management while partnering with leadership to shape company‑wide growth strategy.
As a Staff Engineer on the Growth team, you'll balance hands‑on engineering with technical leadership. You'll mentor engineers on growth best practices and experimentation rigor, make critical technical decisions about when to experiment vs commit, and identify high‑leverage opportunities hiding in data. You'll bring both statistical rigor and strong judgment, knowing when metrics lie, when to trust intuition, and when to dig deeper.
Our team has a strong in‑office culture and works in person 4-5 days per week in San Francisco. We love working together to stay creative and connected, with flexibility to work from home when focus matters most.
What you'll do
Design and architect growth infrastructure including experimentation framework, analytics pipelines, feature flagging, and credit systems
Build complex monetization features including multi‑tier pricing, usage‑based billing, payment flows, and subscription management
Lead technical decision‑making for growth initiatives, determining when to experiment vs commit and when to rebuild vs iterate
Mentor engineers on growth best practices, experimentation rigor, and product thinking
Identify high‑leverage opportunities by finding 10x wins hiding in data, unblocking bottlenecks, and architecting for scale
Partner with EPD and GTM leadership to shape company‑wide growth strategy
What you'll bring
7+ years building production web applications with deep full‑stack expertise
Proven track record moving critical business metrics at scale (revenue, activation, retention)
Strong technical leadership with ability to architect complex systems, make build vs buy decisions, and guide technical direction
Expert at experimentation with statistical rigor, understanding of pitfalls, and ability to build frameworks that enable team velocity
Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Node.js (or strong fundamentals in similar technologies)
Deep product and business sense with ability to see around corners, translate strategy into execution, and drive measurable change in metric
Experience with payment systems, billing logic, and fraud prevention at scale
High autonomy, low ego with empathetic, reflective, self‑aware, growth mindset that actively promotes psychological safety
(Nice to have) Built 0→1 monetization, scaled growth from early stage to Series B+, or led experimentation platforms
Compensation range :
Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to experience and expertise in the requirements listed above.
If you're interested in this role but you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway! We're always excited about meeting great people.
We're building on a full Typescript stack centered around some of the most modern and popular technologies.
We use our own custom, open‑source AI prompting framework, AIJSX. We have a lot of custom tools built in‑house, but also new ones like Vercel AI SDK.
Our tiny team operates at massive scale:
1M+
70M
users around the world
6M+
AI images generated daily
1 trillion
LLM tokens processed per month
Life at Gamma
You get energy from small teams doing big things.
You love when design, code, and storytelling overlap.
You default to action, even when the answer isn't clear yet.
You value details, but know when to ship and move on.
You bring both the spreadsheets and the sparkle, equal parts workhorse and unicorn.
You believe AI should amplify creativity, not replace it.
You know kindness and intensity are not opposites.
You like working with people who care deeply: about their craft, their teammates, and the users on the other side of the screen.
Who we are
Gamma is full of imaginative, passionate people who take their work seriously but not themselves. The culture is warm, a little quirky, and fueled by curiosity. It's the kind of place where you'll debate a pixel on Monday, laugh over someone's keyboard setup on Tuesday, and ship something remarkable by Friday.
We care about craft, move with intention, and don't mind getting a little scrappy. It's fast, creative, and occasionally chaotic - but that's what makes it interesting.
Here's a bit about what it's like to work here, from people on the inside:
We asked the team what makes Gamma, Gamma. Here were some of their answers:
"quirky, inspiring, fun, a little wild in the best way"
"You can have an idea and just run with it."
"Everyone's talented and humble - the mix keeps you sharp."
"We ship cool stuff, learn a ton, and laugh a lot doing it."
Meet the team
We're a team of dreamers and doers building in beautiful San Francisco 🌉
We're kabbadi enthusiasts, pickleballers, dog herders, woodworkers, keyboard nerds, potters, and more - and we can't wait to meet you!

Staff Software Engineer
Golunar
Remote job
About Us:
Lunar is a stealth technology company building a new type of software platform for health systems. We are on a mission to revolutionize healthcare with cutting-edge, AI-powered software designed to help every hospital deliver world-class care for their patients. Our platform is already the core backbone of health systems today, transforming clinical and operational workflows at scale with the world's first AI-native hospital information system.
This next-generation platform is a fundamental rebuild of the information infrastructure that runs health systems. All of it - from doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, coders, billers, supply chain, and even patients - Lunar's software powers everything, soup-to-nuts. We believe that this mission is the moon landing of healthcare - something so consequential and ambitious that most people believe it to be impossible.
Backed by Silicon Valley's preeminent venture capital firms, we believe in the power of a small, high performance team of seasoned professionals operating at the peak of their abilities. We value people who are driven, curious, have sound judgement, and care about doing the best work of their careers.
We run hospitals on Elixir. We've embraced Elixir for its fault tolerance, concurrency, and scalability - essential for handling real-time patient data in mission-critical settings like Emergency Departments, ICUs, and Operating Rooms.
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer who's excited to tackle some of the hardest technical problems in healthcare - and do it with a small, fast-moving, and deeply mission-driven team. If you care about writing clean, robust code and want to rebuild from scratch the software infrastructure of modern hospitals, we'd love to talk.
Here are some deep technical problems you may tackle in your first 6 months:
Modern cloud architecture, built from scratch: We have no legacy systems to untangle. We're designing a modern cloud-native platform with Elixir at its core.
Develop a radically better access control system for clinical data: Create a modern access control system with fine-grained permissions that respects clinical data structure and patient data ownership, while enabling population-level insights for better public health.
Keep hospitals online 24/7 - no matter what: Design and ship infrastructure that can handle rolling deployments, failover, and real-time data sync in environments where downtime isn't an inconvenience - it's a risk to patient care.
Bridge the gap between software and hardware: Architect a next-generation integration engine to connect ventilators, bedside monitors, imaging equipment, lab equipment, and more - reliably and in real time.
Push hospital workflows into the modern age: Rethink how data moves between nurses, doctors, and administrators - and turn confusing, click-heavy workflows into fast, intuitive experiences.
Your Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
Proficiency with object oriented and functional programming, with the ability and willingness to use and adopt new technologies. We use tools such as Phoenix, Elixir, Python, Erlang, Javascript, Node.js and more.
Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a track record of tackling challenging engineering problems.
Intellectually curious with a growth mindset - able to tackle entirely novel challenges that lack prior precedent through applying strong fundamentals and first principles thinking.
Familiarity with open-source technology and a desire to explore and experiment with new solutions.
Experience building 0-1 with a strong product sense.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical decisions, trade-offs, and best practices.
A passion for making a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry through software innovation is a plus.
Hospitals are some of the most complex, under-served environments in all of tech. We're bringing the best of modern software practices to an industry that's been left behind - and building tools that clinicians love, not tolerate.
If you're an engineer who wants to work on meaningful problems with real-world impact, this is your chance.
Lunar supports a flexible hybrid work environment. We encourage in-person collaboration with an expectation of working onsite three days a week. Our approach is designed to offer the flexibility of remote work while fostering the creativity and connection that come from face-to-face time with the team.
At Lunar, we know our greatest strength is the diverse blend of backgrounds, experiences, and ideas that our team members contribute. We're passionate about healthcare, but we are also passionate about creating an inclusive workplace where every unique talent and perspective is not just respected, but celebrated. We thrive on embracing differences and are fully committed to fostering a fair, supportive, and dynamic environment where everyone has the opportunity to shine. All applicants will be considered for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
