Personalis is a genome-scale diagnostics company with a mission to pioneer genome guided medicine. Our tests are based on whole human genome and exome sequencing, conducted in our state-of-the art laboratory. We analyze results utilizing proprietary databases, advanced human reference sequences, and sophisticated algorithms.

Located in Menlo Park, CA, Personalis' genome analysis and interpretation services will help clinical researchers and physicians use genome sequence data to help elucidate underlying disease mechanisms, improve the diagnosis of genetic disorders, guide treatment and drug choice, and anticipate and prevent diseases. We are seeking a talented and highly motivated
Software QA Engineer to join our Team.

SUMMARY:

You will be a key member of a team of engineers and analysts, focused on the creation and execution of test and validation plans for lab information and data delivery systems. This includes the implementation of automated test suites, as applicable. The main goals will be to develop a highly automated lab and achieve a substantially shorter sample turnaround time. The position will report to the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders to: Design, development, and deploy robust test automation frameworks for the LIMS, data management, and related systems. Implement automated tests in support of continuous integration and regression testing. Coordinate test plans with the Software Quality Engineering team. Design, develop, and execute QA tests for the LIMS, data management, and related systems. Perform IQ, OQ, and PQ on the LIMS, data management, and related systems, and prepare the associated documentation. Stay current with QA technologies and best practices. Proactively identify areas for process improvements, and work with appropriate stakeholders to generate solutions for them.



REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biology, Physics, or a related field, plus 3 years of work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with high throughput lab information systems in a production environment. Experience working with lab scientists on software development and/or analysis projects. Hands-on experience with the development and deployment of automated test cases. Experience with one or more test automation tools, with a strong preference for Selenium. Experience executing and coordinating integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing. Experience with build and deploy automation tools, such as Jenkins. Experience working in a Linux/UNIX environment. Fluent with at least one programming language, with a strong preference for Java and Python. Detail-oriented work style. Collaborative approach to identifying problems and implementing solutions. Familiarity with industry software development procedures, in particular Agile development strategies. Excellent communication skills.


DESIRED EXPERIENCE:


Experience with developing and supporting software in a regulated environment, e.g. CLIA, CAP, etc. Experience with HPC environments. Database experience, preferably with PostgreSQL or MySQL.

We are seeking a talented software engineer to help test cloud-native solutions and cloud-connected applications for intelligent A/V content processing and delivery systems. You'll work with an outstanding team to deliver next-generation scalable, reliable, and secure systems based on microservice architecture, cloud media processing pipelines, databases, and CDNs.

The main responsibility of this placement is to develop test tools, set up test environments, design tests, and implement automated tests against either cloud-deployed endpoints, mobile or web applications, including functional (test the actual application exposed via an HTTP API), non-functional (security, reliability...) and deployment (scalability, release procedures...) tests.
This is not a manual testing position.



Requirements:


B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of QA/test methodologies, problem solving/troubleshooting skills. Professional experience in scripting languages such as Bash or Python. Experience in more than one modern programming language such as C++, Java, Javascript, Golang. Knowledge of at least one of Docker, AWS, Serverless, Android or iOS app development, web frontend development. Professional experience with testing of containerized applications. Usage of Git. 4+ years of professional experience.



Nice to haves:


Experience creating complex "Dockerfile" Experience setting up hardware test setups, queues and/or device farms Experience with CI/CD systems. Advanced use of (scripting against, interacting with, and/or remote debugging) applications running on smartphone OS emulators/simulators. Experience testing media client/playback and DRM technologies for media streaming applications Experience developing or testing custom low-level network protocols. Experience developing or testing software on SmartTVs.

As a Senior Quality Engineer at Plexus, you will be part of a cross-functional team that creates high-quality, regulatory compliant, innovative products that delight our customers and improve our world. The Senior Quality Engineer is engaged in all phases of product development (conceptualization, development, verification, commercialization), and will help to develop the skills and provide mentorship of other engineers within the team. You are a technical leader passionate about product development and have design quality experience within regulated industries.

Key Job Accountabilities:
Support development of engineering / product concepts that are innovative, high-quality, cost-appropriate, and satisfy all stakeholder's (customer, manufacturing, material, agency, etc.) needs and requirements through an established area of technical specialty and mentorship of others on the global discipline team.Support evaluation of software development lifecycle activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification and validation for the applicable software safety classification. Manage or support risk management activities including risk management planning and Risk Analysis ownership activities such as software FTA and DFMEA.Ensure adherence to defined laws, regulations, standards, guidelines, and specifications primarily in the healthcare and life sciences industry (IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304, 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, etc.).Author and review product documentation for adherence to Plexus Quality Management System and regulatory submissions.Assist project management in the development of proposals to ensure accurate technical, staffing, budgetary, and schedule content.Demonstrate desire and skill in coaching and mentoring other quality team members on the Software development lifecycle framework.Drive continuous improvement of Plexus QMS processes through CAPA and other improvement initiatives.Support the Lean culture and effectively utilizes Lean Sigma concepts and tools to identify and eliminate waste while improving processes.

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.Five (5) years of relevant experience with the topics below is required.Compliance in regulated software environments, specifically healthcare Full Software life cycle product development with a focus on pre-production Quality documentation for regulatory submissions

Additional Qualifications
Experience with Cybersecurity, such as threat modeling, data flow diagrams, certification, NIST framework, and post market surveillance.Willingness to travel to support customer and team development needs.Experience working with Safety Agencies (such as Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL)).Experience performing Non-Product Software Validation.
