Lux has received over $6 million in grant and contract funding to advance System-on-Foil, including from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Department of Energy, and National Science Foundation. The company is also backed by one of America's top accelerators, Techstars, and leading venture investors, Lockheed Martin Ventures and Ultratech Capital. With Lux now developing solutions for some of America's largest companies, it has struck partnership with one of America's leading MEMS fabs in preparation for full scale production within the United States. This group is responsible for the design, development, and qualification of new fabrication processes for System-on-Foil platform technologies that will push the state-of-the-art in advanced semiconductor packaging. Job Description The Wafer Engineering Lead will be responsible for process development and scale up of Lux's novel metal wafers and the core building block components that support System-on-Foil performance. Specifically, a focus will be on the development of manufacturing processes to scale Lux's metal substrates from 4” to 8” wafer sizes, while hitting target specs. An additional focus will be on the development of Lux's novel Through Metal Via (TMV) technology. Development processes will be designed for rapid scale up, which will require close engagement with tool vendors. Further, the candidate will work with Lux's commercial foundry partner to integrate the TMV wafers into its pilot-scale multilayer interconnect process flow.
