We're looking for an experienced Systems Software Engineer II to join Sunbelt Controls, a leading provider of Building Automation System (BAS) solutions across the Western U.S.
In this role, you'll develop and program databases, create custom graphics, and integrate control systems for smart buildings. ⚙️ What You'll Do
Design and program BAS control system databases and graphics for assigned projects.

Manage project documentation, including as-builts and commissioning records.

Department overview:
Over the last ten years, Boise State University has made a significant investment in the growth of the Department of Computer Science, with nineteen new faculty lines, a building in downtown Boise, and several new undergraduate and graduate programs. This investment has enabled the department to more than triple in size over the last ten years to twenty seven faculty (19 tenure-track) and now awards 100+ undergraduate degrees and 20-30 MS/PhD degrees each year.
The undergraduate degree in Computer Science offers emphasis areas in Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Entrepreneurship, and Secondary Education, with enrollment averaging around 700 students. A new undergraduate degree in Artificial Intelligence Science was started in Fall 2025. An interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Computing program was started in 2016, with emphasis areas in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Computer Science, and Computational Math Science & Engineering. The PhD program has quickly grown to be the largest PhD program at Boise State with 80+ students, and faculty participation from a multitude of departments across campus. The College of Engineering and Department of Computer Science have a strong record of providing support and mentoring for early and mid-career faculty. In the last several years new faculty have been very successful in obtaining external funding, with six Computer Science faculty members receiving NSF CAREER awards, and several other faculty receiving large grants from various funding agencies.
The department is a critical part of the vibrant software and high-tech industry in the Boise metropolitan area, with close relationships with tech companies and a strong and active industry advisory board. JTS's products require engineering design, manufacturing, and quality input across electrical power, structural steel, airflow and cooling, noise control, equipment layouts, and systems integration. Engineering interns in the Power Systems division will be given short-term assignments consistent with their degree programs, coursework, and prior experience. They will work independently and with JTS staff to complete their assignments and contribute to JTS's success. Designs and drawings will be documented in SolidWorks and AutoCAD depending on the project and engineering discipline.
Mechanical/Civil Engineering projects include designing and producing metal structures meeting requirements using SolidWorks (or AutoCAD for legacy systems), performing FEA or other load and stress and strain calculations, analyzing airflow (velocities, pressures, temperatures) including using CFD, calculating noise emissions, and analyzing heat transfer in/out and through the system, and systems integration and testing.
