Job Description Reporting Relationships: VP, Software Development Services. Approximately 20 direct report Scrum Masters that lead individual Agile Teams across Nationwide. The direct reports will be a combination of different banded Scrum Master roles. Leads in a highly matrixed organization and leads Agile teams that are composed from many reporting relationships. Core Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of software by leveraging software engineering best practices along with industry best practices in “HOW” work is accomplished on Nationwide Application Assets. Partners with other delivery roles to measure delivery progress and guide improvements in speed, quality, productivity, and continuous delivery on a year over year basis. Governs best practice adoption by working with BSA leaders, Project Delivery Services, Requirements and Testing Services and other stakeholders to drive effective, efficient and high quality software implementations from within our Nationwide Agile teams. Leverages best practices related to requirements flow, software design, Agile and DevOps principles. Acts as a thought leader within IT and fosters close working relationships with the other components of Nationwide IT. Drives continuous improvement in software development and other IT capabilities. Helps drive connectivity on best practice adoption within Nationwide and from outside Nationwide. Directs the personnel administration of IT employees which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, supervising and promoting subordinates or their staff regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender or non-disqualifying handicap/disability.
