Position Summary

Position Summary

Job Description
UB Greensfelder is seeking a Junior Software & Solutions Engineer. This position is responsible for contributing to the development, testing, maintenance and the enhancement of custom/third party applications, databases and other similar functions used to support internal and external facing systems. The position will actively partake in the software development life cycle as well as contributing to and translating the creative design of the product into reality.

Position Responsibilities Include:
Assist in design sessions and provide insight to building software systems in accordance to provided functional requirements.
Work directly with supervisor to collect project requirements and design new or maintain existing solutions for internal clients.
Actively participate in scheduled group meetings to share projects status, ideas and technical solutions with fellow teammates.
Develop, test, and maintain internal custom web apps, sites and services
Develop, test, and maintain SQL scripts and trigger based automation workflows.
Participate in and document technical support provided on the help desk
Identify and provide suggestions and solutions to new or known bugs in custom applications
Assist with technical documentation and provide quality assurance
Assist with software testing and updates for the firm image
Develop, test, maintain and enhance Business Intelligence driven SSRS reports
Will provide support for helpdesk including 4-5 weekends of On Call
Continual growth in learning and utilizing programming skills, including web development, win forms, database and scripting.
Qualified Applicants Will Have:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science preferred along with a minimum of
2 years web-based and win-forms software development experience.
Basic knowledge and understanding of; IIS, C#, ASP.Net, REST, JavaScript, SQL, XML; Microsoft.NET technologies and languages.
Knowledge of stored procedures, sql triggers, agile software development, mobile web development and data driven warehousing is a plus.
Previous experience working in a law firm or service industry is preferred.
Strong customer service skills along with the ability to diagnosis and solve complex software and hardware issues.
Experience with utilizing development tools such as Visual Studio, MSSQL Server and Intelligent Business Studio is preferred.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and execute in a 24/7 environment
Knowledge of SQL scripts and syntax (SSRS and SSIS is a plus)
Knowledge of win forms, WPF, C# and similar .Net technology
Knowledge of VBA for Excel/Access
Knowledge of security of web apps (experience working within DMZ is a plus)
Knowledge of computer logic in order to perform general computer analysis
Knowledge of computers to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
Knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems and Office suite applications
Interpersonal skills necessary to train other in computer systems
Ability to communicate problems with supervisor as they become known
Must maintain confidentiality
Ability to meet deadlines
