We are seeking Senior Experienced Web Development Engineers for their Satellite Systems Division located in Seal Beach, CA. We are seeking engineers that are passionate about space and motivated to be part of a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for Boeing built government space products!

This is an opportunity to work in a rapid development environment using modern technology, architecture, and tools. We need your help to develop a new cloud-based and containerized front-end web application with additional interfaces. Our team works within an agile methodology using a CI/CD environment; integrated with automated testing, vulnerability, & quality scanning capabilities. The software team is using javascript, HTML, and Python languages; using the Django framework; and with a complex SQL based backend database.

You will directly partner with customer counterparts and program management to deliver the highest value capabilities, performing demonstrations along the way. The role requires a creativity and you will be encouraged to automate manual processes and workflows where possible. The candidate should possess excellent communications skills and work well in a team environment to support the needs of the Integrated Product Team.

This senior position requires proven experience within the software ecosystem, a unique background of project experience, and the clear exhibition of superior judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and capabilities. Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required!
Primary Responsibilities & Expectations:

Develop and maintain requirements, architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems Write software code and integrate completed software components into a fully functional software system Perform software development in the agile methodology utilizing a DevSecOps environment where you will support continuous improvement Build software test procedures and environments, execute the tests and document results to ensure software system requirements are met Support the presentation of progress demonstrations to customer representatives and satellite program leadership

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

U.S. Top Secret Clearance and a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Counterintelligence Polygraph is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

MUST HAVE Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Counterintelligence polygraph MUST HAVE 7 or more years of experience with the Java, and/or Python software languages Experience with front-end web application development Software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and DevOps processes/tools Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, JIRA, Confluence, Artifactory, etc.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Current CompTIA Security+ certification Experience using SonarQube and/or Coverity to manage code quality Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies and containerized applications and frameworks (Jupyter, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) Experience with Python numerical tools (numpy, scipy), GIS tools for python & map front-ends (OpenLayers/Cesium) Experience with databases using PostgreSQL, including Geospatial, Multi-Level Security, Alembic/migration and/or Oracle Spatial/Database Vault capabilities

Your Role and Responsibilities

The Technical Solution Architect will be responsible for driving Software Networking (SN) technology Sales

Specific responsibilities include:

+ Responsible for managing the customer GTM more from technical - Solution architecture

+ Lead the technical solution offerings / sales with support from SN BU and other parts of IBM

+ Build and deepen key stakeholder relationships with the customers at all levels including CTO, NW Heads, Principal Architects and Service Integrators both internal and external partnership channels

+ Execute the Technical Sales strategy in alignment with other SN BU teams to position SN technology direct with the customers and also via SI partnership channels

+ Quickly respond on customer requirements and sales team with solution/use case offerings

+ Lead Customer PoV discussions and execute along with SDN BU teams

+ Capture customer technical requirements and if not included in current product roadmap qualify in sales funnel and discuss with SN BU strategy and product teams for addition

+ Actively lead and drive individual technical sales opportunities

+ Present IBM Software Networking 5G/Edge/Enterprise Strategy and SN technology/ecosystem landscape

+ Work collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment across IBM

+ Maintain new technology skills and offering knowledge in relation to 5G, MEC, Private 5G , ORAN , Hybrid Cloud, Network Automation , Service assurance and adjacent technologies

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

+ 10+ years solution architecture/design/build - technical selling telco network/enterprise multi cloud, network automation etc. technology solutions

+ Strong technical and handson skills on 5G , public and private , virtual/containers - k8s, E2E orchestration and network automation by providing value to the customers

+ Self-starter, driven, creative, 'own-it' mentality without the need for hands-on management

+ 'Outside-in' mentality; proactively build and present the solution offerings

+ Team-player, open and honest

+ New Technology aware; ability to understand/articulate Telco Network concepts and core markets/solutions such as 5G Slicing, ORAN, Networking & analytics, Enterprise connectivity

+ Demonstrated strong understanding and of technical concepts regarding applications, infrastructure, cloud, data center and virtualization and how they solve customer pains

+ Exceptional communication, presentation and consultative skills

+ Knowledge of adjacent IBM technologies - IBM Cloud Pak for Network automation and Watson AIOps

This position is for a Senior Software Tech in Cedar Rapids, IA. Work will be onsite with the possibility of working hybrid in the future. This position will be with the SWOPS team in Cabin Systems. This role will be responsible for building and testing of software. Also confer with Account Reps and Technicians on details and specifications to build and test software.
Primary Responsibilities:

+ Performs moderately complex technical tasks that contribute to the completion of production type software configurations.

+ Identifies and documents exact sequence of activities that produce malfunctions; writes, modifies, debugs and verifies source code as required; characterizes defects (provides descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports).

+ Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Makes recommendations for new procedures.

+ Assists with the training and mentorship of technicians.

+ Demonstrates successful soft skills - communication, attitude, leadership, and professionalism.

Basic Qualifications:

+ HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR

+ In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
