Responsibilities:
Apply software standards and processes to produce high quality, extensible, and maintainable software packages.
Collaborate with our technical experts to solve issues and iterate to improve efficiency and reduce technical debt.
Build and improve automated test and verification software and tools.
Design robust software systems for integration of existing signal processing tools.
Debug, refactor, and reimplement existing software codebases into new systems and on new platforms.
Participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements development, software design, implementation and build, documentation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active Top Secret security clearance, eligible for SCI and CI poly
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology fields
5+ years of experience in related fields
Programming skills in Java, Python and C++
Version control experience in Git (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket)
Experience with RESTful APIs, RESTful Web Services, Orchestration and Containerization
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years programming experience
Software architecture and modern frameworks with Java, Python and C++

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Software Quality Engineer or Principal Software Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Melbourne, FL, at the Melbourne campus. Telecommute/remote is not an option for this position. This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80, to allow employees every other Friday off.
The Software Quality/Principal Software Quality Engineer will provide highly technical feedback during code review to ensure compliance with standards and best practices and that the code is correct, efficient, and maintainable. They will implement tools that aid in the collection and analysis of data relevant to Software Quality's statement of work.
The Software Quality/Principal Software Quality Engineer will also:
Perform process audits of software development processes to assure compliance to policies, both onsite and at supplier sites.
Review customer, system and software requirements to ensure the flow down of requirements is complete and unambiguous.
Participate in contractual reviews and audits, program meetings, and configuration control board meetings.
Examine the products associated with the preparation and configuration control of software test environments to assess the team's readiness to enter formal testing.
Collect and analyze quality metrics on software activities.
Peer review software documents to ensure appropriate content and adherence to standards.
Interpret customer technical, software, and quality requirements and ensure those requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications, and product documents.
Ensure compliance with contract program, quality, organizational, and industry alert requirements.
Provide oversight in discrepancy review and software failure investigations as well as cause and corrective action determinations.
Analyze and interpret trends and execute improvements on key metrics.
Facilitate thorough root cause analysis on deficiencies and ensure appropriate corrective actions are developed and implemented in a timely manner.
Monitor execution of formal software tests to ensure tests are executed in accordance with approved test procedures, requirements are fully verified, and that all test procedures and software anomalies are documented and tracked to closure.
Basic Qualifications:
Software Quality Engineer
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, another STEM degree or equivalent and at least 2 years of software experience or a Master's degree in one of the above disciplines with 0 years of experience.
Experience coding in Java, C++, or Python
Understanding of software engineering principles, practices, and theories
Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools such as DOORs, Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
Knowledge of waterfall, spiral, or Agile life cycles
Active in-scope Secret Clearance with ability to acquire and maintain Special Program Access prior to starting
Principal Software Quality Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, another STEM degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of software experience or 3 years with a Master's degree or 0 years with a PhD in one of the above disciplines.
Experience coding in Java, C++, or Python
Understanding of software engineering principles, practices, and theories
Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools such as DOORs, Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
Knowledge of waterfall, spiral, or Agile life cycles
Active in-scope Secret Clearance with ability to acquire and maintain Special Program Access prior to starting

Primary Level Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
