About The Role
Job Title: Systems Test Engineer (3-Month Contract)
Employment Type: Contractor (via Third Party Staffing Partner/W-2 Payroll)
Hours: Full-Time During Contract Period
Location: Guilford, Connecticut
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Systems Test Engineer for a 3-month contract to support verification, validation, and integration testing of our medical imaging systems. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who can quickly ramp up, contribute to ongoing projects, and deliver results within a defined timeline.
As a Systems Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the tests that ensure the quality and the functionality of our product. You will be involved in various phases of the testing program, from designing the test parameters to troubleshooting errors, and writing/executing final test procedures to comply with Verification and Validation plans. This role involves testing products that are being developed and working with the various functional teams to identify issues in implementation based on product requirements to ensure readiness for production and distribution. The scope of tests will involve all aspects of our system which consists of the scanner hardware, related accessories, instrument software and cloud-based applications. Additionally, as part of being in a start-up environment, you will be required to assist in troubleshooting customer issues, as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Learning the architecture and interactions with all back-end components to be able to test the system effectively.
Collaborating with the development team to understand and determine product testing parameters.
Writing test plans and test cases for the product.
Executing test cases and reporting defects as well as defining severity and priority for each defect.
Carrying out regression testing for software builds.
Ensuring all tests and procedures meet company and industry standards.
Reviewing IFU documentation for correctness.
Partner effectively with other testers and teams, ensuring the spread of best practices and knowledge.
Contribute to discussions on test process and procedural improvements.
Recreate field issues as necessary to facilitate a workaround or a maintenance software release.
Support and training of field or customer service personnel.
Reviewing testability of requirements and working with the DRI to make changes if necessary.
Knowledge & Skill:
In-depth knowledge of engineering and product design
Individuals must be process-oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Hands-on proactive problem solver and ability to think out of the box.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to define, implement and execute software/hardware tests (translating requirements to tests, clear protocol writing and execution).
Experience with testing embedded systems, cloud, and networking.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
Knowledge of Enterprise Networking.
Knowledge of routing protocols and ability to troubleshoot networking issues in a production environment.
Networking experience with modality interaction with PACS and RIS.
AWS API tests, load testing.
Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5 years' experience (or equivalent)
3+ years' experience in a regulated industry or equivalent.
Experience with test automation, issue tracking and test management systems (Selenium with Python, Gecko WebDriver, Postman, Jira, GitHub, Xray for Jira).
Experience with Requirements and traceability review for systems.
Experience in documenting results of software/hardware integration testing (good documentation practices, clear report writing, highly organized).
Experience with Linux operating system.
Experience with vulnerability testing.
Experience with Agile development process.
Experience with a variety of types of testing such as functional, interface, integration, regression, compatibility, etc.
Experience with DICOMs and hospital integrations.
Experience with MRI or equivalent testing is a plus.
Physical Demands:
This is an onsite position based out of Hyperfine's facility in Guilford, CT.
Ability to speak, write, and use all office equipment including scanner and printer, phone, computer, etc.
Available nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Ability to occasionally lift 40-50 pounds.

Familiar with key industry standards supporting safety-critical aerospace systems, with hands-on experience applying DO-178C for embedded software compliance; exposure to DO-254 and ARP4754 in cross-functional development environments.
Practical experience supporting Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, using structured problem-solving tools to identify issues and contribute to corrective/preventive actions.
Working knowledge of Engineering Configuration Management tools such as SVN, Synergy, and DOORS, with a solid understanding of their role in requirements traceability and lifecycle management.
Basic understanding of AS9100/AS9115 Quality Management Systems, with experience supporting compliance activities within the aerospace development lifecycle.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
