What you need to succeed: * 5-7 years of programming experience, with 3+ years of recent professional experience in Python and solid professional experience with Node.js. * Deep experience designing, building, and debugging distributed systems that use Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems. * Demonstrated ownership across the SDLC-design, build, validation, deployment, and support of production systems. * Strong understanding of database fundamentals such as joins, constraints, stored procedures, triggers, and schema design. * Ability to take a problem and represent it in an Object-Oriented or modular design while calling out assumptions, discussing design alternatives, and considering non-functional requirements (performance, maintainability, scalability, etc.). * Familiarity with concurrency, multithreading, and debugging distributed systems. * Experience optimizing software for reliability, performance, and safety (e.g., failover strategies, O(n) complexity awareness). * Knowledge of other technologies in use at Workfront (Docker, Kubernetes, NoSQL, ElasticSearch, AWS, GCP, etc.) is a plus. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $139,000 -- $257,550 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
